The plea deal will allow Mr. Weisselberg, who was facing up to 15 years in prison, to spend as little as 100 days behind bars, according to people with knowledge of the matter. And it does not require Mr. Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s longtime chief financial officer, to cooperate with the Manhattan district attorney’s office in its broader investigation into Mr. Trump, who has not been accused of wrongdoing.


But Mr. Weisselberg is expected to admit to all 15 felonies he was charged with and will have to testify about his role in a scheme to avoid paying taxes on lavish corporate perks, the people said. That requirement will put the company at a disadvantage and make Mr. Weisselberg a central witness at its trial in October, where it will face many of the same charges.

Mr. Weisselberg is not expected to implicate Mr. Trump or his family when he takes the stand in the October trial, the people said, and on cross-examination, the company’s lawyers could accuse him of pleading guilty only to spare himself a harsher sentence.

But his testimony — an acknowledgment from one of the Trump Organization’s top executives that he committed the crimes listed in the indictment — will undercut any effort by the company’s lawyers to contend that no crime was committed. The indictment placed Mr. Weisselberg at the center of the company’s scheme, and his testimony could enable prosecutors to argue that his admissions go a long way toward proving its broader claims.

In addition to the mar-a-lago documents investigation, there are

January 6th investigation
DOJ and SEC investigation into Truth Social’s deal with DWAC
Georgia investigation into electoral misconduct by Trumps Team
Michigan investigation into illegal access and tampering with electronic voting systems in multiple jurisdictions by Trump associates (this likely to expand to other states)

And the upcoming trial of the Trump Organization for tax fraud

Fox News under the gauntlet with Dominion as well. In the next 3 years there will be more legal documentation directly or indirectly implicating a former president than anytime in history.

Just look at Clinton's hummer and how long that lasted (well, not the hummer itself) this will be textbook stuff for decades.

The crazy thing about Clinton is that the hummer was consensual. Not even rapey. The people that hated him for getting a consensual BJ voted for Trump, the most rapey president in history.

A lot of people on the right love to go on about how Democrats are too far left. Meanwhile the Trumpsters (and Republicans) are off their rockers supporting a rapey dude that paid off a porn star. Despite hating a dude for getting a consensual BJ.

It was more than just consensual. Lewinsky was totally smitten with Clinton. She decided to confide in her friend Linda Tripp about the affair and her feelings. Tripp started recording the phone calls and eventually turned them over the whitewater special prosecutor Ken Starr, whose full time job was to investigate Clinton for whatever he wanted. Trump is such a crybaby complaining about being the target of political prosecutions. Clinton literally had someone digging up dirt on him for practically his entire presidency. Starr eventually caught Clinton in a lie asking about the nature of his relationship with lewinsky, and based on that the republican house set about impeaching Clinton. Newt Gingrich was the speaker, and during this time it came to light that he was engaged in affair and he decided to step down as speaker, the next guy ended up having the same problem, so they finally settled on Denis Hassert to get the impeachment process underway. Dennis Hassert of course went to prison about a decade later for crimes related to him molesting his underage students when he was a wrestling coach.

Quite an amazing year that was 1998.

a few years before Hastert went down, he was taking caller questions on CSpan when one of the kids he molested (who was extorting Hastert to keep his mouth shut) called in.

Family values, that tagline was the MAGA of the 90s. It was Bill that signed the FLMA....something that Bush vetoed twice. These politicans voted against programs to support families and instead provoked  panic about the decline of the family. Imagine that.
