I don't hate socialism.  It just doesn't work.  Socialism does have a definition, though, and it's a system where the government controls the means of production of goods.  Socialized medicine doesn't fit that definition.  You can pretend it does all you want, but it doesn't.  In fact, the way that most socialized medicine systems work is a single payer system.  That keeps the healthcare providers private, so it's not even adjacent to socialism.
