The new year is gonna be devastating. I know so many smart, responsible people that have taken this very seriously up to this point. But I guess they draw the line at not flying all over the country to hang out in close, confined spaces with family and friends.

183,000 new cases today.

The last two months of the Trump administration is gonna be horrific. The entire federal government had checked out. Nothing federally is going to be done about this.

As I understand it’s both.

But also the vaccine has to be transported at -170F or something and there aren’t any hospitals ready for that. Or very few anyways. Rural areas are fucked.

Yeah, that's a huge drawback of these mRNA vaccines. Moderna should be releasing phase 3 data very soon too, but it's also an mRNA vaccine that's similar to pfizer's, so expect similar efficacy.

Hopefully we will have additional options with vaccines from Johnson&Johnson, GSK, and others that have vaccines that can be stored in the fridge.

That just what I want injected into my arm, it comes out of a freezer chest full of dry ice, fog rolling over the sides as a Walgreens dude reaches in with a special glove to grab an ice cold vial, which who knows how long can be exposed to room temperature before spoiling.

I wonder if there's going to be an age limit or if they'll start jabbing 6 month olds with an ice cold vaccine with unknown long term side effects.
