It sounds like we agree that the feds have been sent in to terrorize a US city because of *checks notes* some vandalism.
As you said, they aren't playing nice and before its over I won't be surprised if Trumpy's lawlessness really does show us what a third world shit hole looks like.

Some vandalism?
It's been a LOT more than just vandalism. (Though downtown looks like a dump now.)
So let's not forget the countless arson related attacks, the looting, the stealing, the violence, etc...
Not to mention the fact that business owners are already suffering because of coronavirus and the constant rioting is keeping even more people away from downtown businesses, many of them black, who are just trying to earn a living. The rioters have fucked over their local black neighbors. Hard. (And because I *actually* care about black lives and I'm not just sucking the dick of some stupid political movement that claims it does, I'm gonna call a spade a spade when it's obvious.)

The violence in portland had been going on for 50 days before the fed got there and was the REASON the fed came in. Furthermore, the rioters had set fire to and vandalized federal property. The fed isn't gonna shake their finger like the pussy Portland mayor and say, "now now, play nice."
Most residents that live in Portland (who pay the taxes for the welfare of the jobless rioters that are fucking the city up) are getting sick of what's happening.
How do you know if the Portland mayor has any specific policy on the issue and has control over the police department?
If we learned anything about these protests around the nation, it's that city mayors are essentially powerless over their police departments.
The Feds should really stay out unless the locals want assistance, and that don't think that was the case in this scenario.
