Wrong, sir. I pulled 5 years right out of my ass.

Wasn’t trying to be specific - just thought it’s ludicrous to say the US economy exploded under Trump, seeing as how he had nothing to do with the stats that actually improved. It may not be 5 years, but it’s not a few months either.

Those are good points about sentiment, but that doesn’t increase spending by any noticeable amount in the long term. Plus, It’s not a change the president implements; it’s a reaction to him being elected. So how can you credit him with it?

Where / how the economic growth originates is a very good question. Someone with a better grasp of economics may want to chip in but here is my USD0.02

I believe the initial impulse is consumer confidence which predicts increased spending. Then the Walmart guys start hiring more staff to deal with the (anticipated) extra business and place more orders. By the time the orders reach the suppliers the wave of optimism gives them a reason to buy more plant which further bumps up consumer spending - this time driven by the manufacturing staff. The increased spending anticipated by Walmart then becomes a reality, justifying the investment they had enacted. This is a short/medium term loop but long term what matters is how efficient the economy is in terms of regulation, overheads, compliance costs etc.

Trump played his cards well (excuse the pun) all along. First he created a business-friendly perception which consumers bought (oupss) to get things going. Then he cut the red tape to create a more sustainable growth. The silly, repetitive, relentless and seemingly redundant tweets about the jobs and GDP are actually a way of keeping the consumer confidence up to keep the cruise liner turning.

How long will it take CNN to start implying that Trump was indirectly responsible for the loss of the Ukrainian plane?

My prediction is:
"The airliner was lost as Iran was braced for the anticipated impetuous, irresponsible, knee-jerk military response which we have come to expect from Trump"

Wrong, sir. I pulled 5 years right out of my ass.

I think it's generally accepted that the economy for a president's first year in office is attributed to the previous adminisation, then it's attributed to the current administration after that.

Why?

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Now Trump is supposedly on board with importing cheaper drugs from Canada as a way to lower drug prices.  Canada doesn't exactly have a surplus to supply a country that's 10 times bigger, and there will be pressure to restrict exports that would affect it's own supply and domestic prices.

It's a good plan.  It won't work so drug prices will stay high, and Trump can pretend he gives a fuck about people who cannot afford prescriptions.

Trump proposes rule for importing prescription drugs from Canada

Well.. This could work positively for Canada, if they start mass sourcing meds in China and India, theres billions if pharma $$ to be made for them off this.

Canada can greatly step up their pharma imports to meet added demand.

Canada imports a significant portion of America's drug demand and sells it to them.  Could that actually happen?

If we had a tax increase instead of a cut, the Fed wouldn’t have had to raise interest rates to counter the infusion of cash into the economy. The end result would have been the same, except we’d be seeing $400 billion deficits instead of $1000 billion deficits. A tax cut to juice the economy when it’s already running at full speed is moronic.

Yes. Iran was abiding by the agreement they made with the west. Then trump had a hissy fit, violated then canceled the agreement and hit Iran with crippling sanctions. Trump created tensions for no reason except he didn’t like the deal because Obama. He cancelled the deal and then had zero strategy to negotiate something else.

That's PB's tweet.

FOXNEWS then has something about how this 'middle' they were caught in doesn't exist.  It's just all Iran, Iran, Iran.

I am speechless - Iran have no responsibility for shooting down a civilian airliner in their own airspace. Heard that CNN have some openings for opinion writers?

This sounds exactly like health care. Trump attempts to dismantle ACA, says he has a better plan that will benefit everyone. After 3+ years he has no plan.

His plan was to rebrand and repackage ACA, and he succeeded.
Just google “trumpcare” if you think he didn’t.

No Iran fucked up bad, but this situation exists because Donald trump chose this path. Iran’s response to trump was calculated and reasonable. Then they blew it. They need to just admit what happened, appologize and make restitutions.

He was responding the question of Iran's responsibility for instigating this shit, not if Iran shares responsibility for shooting down the plane.
