It's a fine system for distributing designer baseball hats, and fidget spinners.

It's a horrible system for determining who has access to education or healthcare.

The problem comes when people treat capitalism as the answer to every problem.

It's like a carpenter who refuses to use any tool except for a hammer.

Education and healthcare should be treated as government services like police and fire.  They really shouldn't even be a part of a consumer economy in the same sense as goods are.

Of course, there's always room for private providers of both, just like there are private police and fire.  They just aren't for the lowlifes, scallywags, and ne'er-do-wells.

I will say though, I have become a bit sad about the effects of extremist capitalism on art.

It can be painful to be honest.

It has turned creativity into an industry.

The creativity industry.

So everything it produces is a product, from the top down. It's first identity is "product".

Then you get this wall of separation between consumers and the "creativity industry", which I think, makes people less creative in general.

People are less inclined to be creative when they see it as a product oriented mindset.

Established structures within the entertainment industry become hopelessly trapped. Look at Hollywood, they are stuck in a feedback loop, producing the same things over and over, because they are a business.

Business is about minimizing risks.

Art is not.

The fascist/communist etc etc, turns art into propaganda. They compel the audience to consume it. The capitalist turns art into another investment. Another source of capital.

The real product is always the audience.

This is why people would rather watch tik Tok videos of teenagers dancing around a skibidi toilet.

At least it's other people. It's peer to peer. It's, ugh, I can't believe I'm saying this, it's relatable.

It's at least more relatable than Batman returns part 11, filmed in pitch black, staring some wealthy hetrosexual. 🙄
