For what it's worth he's the oldest president and as of recently only obama has seemed more in shape than him. He could run circles around both Bushes, Clinton, Hillary, Bernie.
I also never said Trump doesn't look like shit. He absolutely does. For his age he's doing well though.

A similar question was posted in another thread.
Me personally I'd run like a startled gazelle from Melania. Bernies Mrs looks normal, I'd have a beer with her.
Let's change the premise, which woman would you be more likely to trust?
Much better way to frame it.

Probably depends on what exactly we mean by progressive - to me it is almost synonymous with "left". I do not use the term liberal because historically it referred to what these days would be considered conservative.

This is more or less how I see it. I like USA Today and used to read The Atlantic before it got paywalled. CNN, NYT and FOX are split into news and opinions in the graph but it impossible to tell one from the other looking at individual articles. MSNBC is all left.

UK definitions are going to be completely irrelevant to this discussion, their "labour" party - by nomenclature in the US would be a communist party.

It looks like while 10% less democrats line up behind him, approx 20% more republicans, and 20% more independents do - that's big.

Its OK to have the government pay somebody like this to be Trump's 'spiritual advisor' because it's political expression of evangelicals and Trump isn't really listening to them anyways.
Besides, ideologically possessed, remember Pol Pot.
That's how it's squared.

Well, if you believe (excuse the pun) that only rational people can be paid by the government you will have many targets to attack - including the environmentalists, food pyramid people, various well-being operators etc. I understand your sentiment but as long as this crap does not ovewhelm the policies a secret corporate influence is probably a greater threat. At least if Trump suddenly decided that Christians pay less taxes we would all see it straight away
That's a false equivalency. Some nut who prays for satanic pregnancies to miscarry is not the same as an environmentalist.
The president has endorsed this person by giving her a job and an official title, his "spiritual advisor". Either he believes in what she does or he is a hypocrite. There is no other explanation. This is bad. Hypocrites are bad and so are insane people in the corridors of power.
You keep thinking it doesn't matter, saying it amounts to nothing substantially, while he appoints judges that this evangelical culture approves of and is out pushing their pro-life agenda internationally.
I'd like to find out how much this shit is affecting US/Israel policies, Christian zionism is a thing and I would suspect it's finding it's way into that too.

Cult meeting in the White House.
Now, what do you think the president really thinks about all this malarky? Does he believe all their crap, or is he just using them and doesn't believe it?

Oh brother, Bernie Sanders and the movement for a just society gives meetoo nightmares.
 Scary Bernie
Peer reviewed science, man. What's it say about what we are doing to the environment? That's where it's at, not imagined scenarios of wicked greenies.
A bad sounding thing that some environmentalist supposedly said is how you characterize environmentalism, and a harmless aspect of a religious person's life, praying, is how you characterize what Paula White is doing.
This person is in Trump's White house as his spiritual advisor.
Trump ostensibly believes in this shit she's saying and doing, or else he's doing it to fake out the evangelical voters.
Neither of those things is good. He's a nut or a phoney here.

I would like to find some old scare talk about FDR, see how it compares.

I don't know how anyone could argue FDR wasn't great for the lives of Americans.
Similarly (I've posted this before), Reagan was piss poor for the lives of Americans:
Quote:
Falcon91Wolvrn03 said:[/url] Reagan took the country from the middle class and gave it to the rich. There's no denying it anymore, as every metric proves it's true.
Reagan stopped upward gains by the middle class and gave it all to the rich by attacking labor and unions:

Reagan was the first President not to increase minimum wage, causing a sharp decline in real minimum wage that the country has never recovered from:

Reagan reversed the downward trend of debt/GDP by giving tax cuts to the rich:

Reagan was responsible for a sharp decline in US exports as a percentage of GDP that we've never recovered from:

Reagan was EASILY, and BY FAR the worst president this country has ever had for the middle class.

Another Trump hack downplaying Covid by comparing it to common flu:
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/02/26/opinions/colleen-kraft-coronavirus-best-defense/index.html
The good news? The steps you can take to protect yourself against the extremely low chance that you might get exposed to coronavirus in the US will also guard against the widespread outbreak we are actually experiencing here -- seasonal influenza. While at least 60 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the US, no one has died of it here, while this year's influenza has infected at least 29 million in the US and killed about 16,000 so far.
Even her recommended precautions are almost word-for-word what Trump said in the press conference:
Here is the best advice I can give you, to avoid any virus and flu: Be intentionally hygienic in public and during interactions with others. Hand hygiene is a cornerstone of infection prevention. Effective hand hygiene requires appropriate duration and thoroughness, which should be a goal each time our hands are cleaned.
And another one here:
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/02/27/opinions/cdc-coronavirus-us-outbreak-wen/index.html
At the moment, it appears that Covid-19 has a 2% fatality rate—lower than SARS and MERS (10% and 30-40%, respectively), but higher than influenza (0.1%). Given the lack of ongoing surveillance and high numbers of people who are not being tested and diagnosed, some public health experts predict that the actual fatality rate of Covid-19 is much lower than 2% and may be closer to 0.1%. If that's the case, Covid-19 could be treated as we treat influenza. The flu is a serious seasonal illness that we work hard to prevent and treat. We develop flu vaccines and encourage everyone to obtain them. Those who get the flu and have mild symptoms self-isolate at home and avoid spreading it to others. Those who have much more severe symptoms get hospital care. There are some treatments available that reduce the severity of flu. Some people die from the flu, while the vast majority recover. It's a serious illness, but we don't close schools, restrict travel, and stop global economy because of it.
These Trump ass lickers just cannot help themselves but to parrot his ignorant utterances!

That soap use procedure sign...near your new sanitizer dispensers to which that sign doesnt really apply?

My brother-in-law is a straight up germaphobe. I bet there are 20 bottles of sanitizer strategically placed throughout his house if there is one. Dude's hands are perma-chapped and his skin is cracked af.
Shit's weird and I sorta felt bad for him until he started passing that neurotic behavior on to his daughters. Now I just feel like smacking him when he's obsessing.
