We’ve had a friend of a friend watching our daughter for a few hours one afternoon a week while my partner and I are both busy.

Found out the other day she thinks 5G causes autism.

I understand if people like the rhetoric of Trumps policies, but it's insane for anyone to see him say such nutty stuff and not recognise the stupidity.

The tribal nature of many of his supporters..

Heard suggestion that the democratic senator who's facing corruption allegations with taking gold bars and stuff might switch to Republican if charged and could be welcomed with open arms by trump supporters.. we'll see but it'd be a great example of his bases priorities if it happens.

Corruption is pervasive to all corporate donor aligned senators. Bribery is prevalent within the upper branch of Congress.

Memendez appears brazen but the trial continues.

I know I'm going to get ripped apart for this but  I kind of want Trump to win.

Do I think he's anything other than the most incompetent corrupt piece of crap money hungry person we've ever had in office? I think nothing else of him but that.

I was watching some of the stuff he saying he wants to start bringing down interest rates. He claims he wants to fight inflation which is at an all-time high in historical terms. He wants the average person to be able to buy a house again. On the other hand he will make a statement about how if interest rates go down house prices will start going back up which will make the economy great again and we won't have to demand the inflation of prices of foreign investments. who else but Trump?

That housing market is really a tough cookie huh? The housing market has been 100% destroyed by a historically significant set of contradicting values. For one homes are so expensive it's almost ridiculous to imagine that any average person could ever afford a decent home ever again. Interest rates are ridiculous especially for the prices of homes to begin with. You lower the interest rates and probably the home prices will start going up which is absolutely nuts. You keep the interest rates High and it just makes people getting a mortgage for the already ridiculously high price of a home nearly impossible. What can you possibly do? Its a fucked scenario.

Trump also thinks he can end the war with Ukraine by going and having coffee with Putin and reminding him "of their great relationship."

The guy is so nuts I almost want to make a bet that would be quite illegal but a bet online on whether Trump will be inaugurated first or being jail first due to his multiple dozens of lawsuits.

And I would go ahead and bet that he's going to be inaugurated first. Even if he goes to jail in the same exact day I believe he'll be inaugurated in the morning and go to jail later that day. I totally 100% see him being elected as president again.

And a part of me thinks who better for the job? I mean he's hilarious. It's why when I was a kid I liked it when Clinton was President and I didn't know shit about politics when I was that young. I just remember in elementary school and part of middle school when I saw Clinton on TV I was just laugh my ass off. I mean we need a guy like Trump that's just hilarious every 5 Seconds.

 is that selfish of me to want to see him reelected just because he's funny? The country has to go through all sorts of consequences and have a really crappy corrupt idiot as president for another 4 years just because I want to see his funny speeches?

Look at it this way. Look at all the garbage that we have lined up as potential candidates to be elected. Do you see a better choice?:laugh2:

I mean come on they all suck  With Trump you know that you're basically getting like Hitler as president. As soon as he becomes president everyone that's not a full-fledged right wing super conservative super pro Nazi nut job is going to be up in arms trying to fight him and his corruption.

It's like he brings some kind of balance to the world. He gets elected and everybody wants to fight him and then suddenly everybody has this incredible productive life where they want to be aware of the problems with the economy and the problems of the world and the problems of foreign politics and everyone tries to live their best and do their best because without that effort you can just not fight a guy like Trump.

He's the kind of guy that when he gets elected and he's like the next Hitler everybody puts their 100% best into like stopping him at every turn. He's the kind of really bad father that doesn't pay his attention to his kids for crap and then goes and beat them with a belt when they don't clean the kitchen. People sure keep that kitchen clean when he's around though cuz he sure isn't going to do it.

I don't know this is how I feel about it. We have a world dominated by inflation really important sectors for the first time in history maybe are understaffed. It's terrible you don't have enough building contractors you don't have enough Engineers you don't have enough doctors you don't have enough lawyers and you don't have enough people building houses in the positive side of it is really really really rich people are really high demand they're making more money than ever and really really poor people are getting screwed more than ever. If you happen to be a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer you're probably getting so rich right now it's just really really hard to get to that point since nobody can really afford the kind of life you need to get up to that spot anymore.

Trump becomes president and he's going to change nothing not a damn thing but he's going to claim that he changed everything. On the other side of the swing as the reaction for that action kicks in people will change their lives to try to make the country better and lower inflation and make it easier to re-staff the very understaffed positions that are in critical need like the medical sector the legal sector the engineering sector the housing sector Etc.

Hence the country will get great just because people will be fighting Trump. Then Trump takes credit. Rinse and repeat

Even Koods is going to try harder. He's the kind of President we need. :smirk: Anything to get fucking Biden out

He is saying he will end "wokness", that means he will ruin shit for the trans folk, maybe even the gays too

Trumps biggest accomplishment was a tax cut that that the vast majority going to the richest people. 200k offshored jobs too.

Yeah, it's fucking hilarious to wake up to the president scribbling on a weather map and asking about shoving lights in assholes, injecting bleach, nuking cyclones, windmills killing whales and causing cancer etc.

His political actions don't align with his words, he just told workers not from any union to not care about their pay and just vote for him.

I think he's lost and facade of being for the working man and he just doesn't care anymore.

Biden's like a corpse king wearing a sash of his advertisers names, and trumps just sitting there as the presidential table punching himself in the nads.

In a free country it might be dumb and unproductive, but I can't blame someone for wanting to watch the orange thing do things even if they're to their own detriment.

On social issues he'll do what he says, on economic issues everything he says is a lie.

Basically same with all senators etc.

The game they play is to make social issues the ruckus then stone wall on economics.

Voters will remember that Trump rolled out assistance in the midst of the pandemic, and that the economy was generally good.

They’ll remember Biden came in, ended the assistance, declared the pandemic over, and then presided over massive inflation.

People can make all the arguments they want, but this is the prevailing notion amongst the “moderate” crowd. Dobbs decision will affect that, sure, but still.

Yeah, pretty much. And it seems like most people who vote seem to feel like the economic issues are solved if everything lines up with their social issues. "Oh Trump just made abortion illegal. Well he reversed Roe versus Wade so the state themselves can decide. I just realized the economy is terrible."

Or "oh thank God Biden is president. He wants to change and reinstate Roe versus Wade. The economy is incredible I just realized all my friends have jobs."

LOL sometimes watching voters is like watching a special ed class where people get to make decisions about who the principal of the school will be. Rarely is the economy ever totally in line with the social policies. When it actually is then you better believe voters feel very self-confident to go ahead and cast another vote.

Democracy is supposed to be a system by the people for the people where you can vote on every single thing and I mean every single thing not just the people that vote on things but you vote on the things themselves. I don't know we could go on about this for hours obviously we don't live in a democracy. But I sure as hell don't think picking an asshole president is going to change anything. Just because they panned it one issue and hope that everyone else ignores all the other issues that are just looking through the cracks.

And a fair system a president would not have so much power anyway. Oftentimes I don't think people understand the system of government that they are voting in or that they are voting for. They vote for one president as though he's going to relieve them of the slavery they went through with the last president. It's always the same thing you just vote for the next slave owner. But it's supposed to be democracy for the People by the people so why should it make such a big difference if there's one president or another anyway?

 oh well whatever let everybody vote for the next slave owner. If I believed in democracy I would believe that my home my job my health the things my taxes paid for was all decided by me. I wouldn't think it would matter so much who the president is they would just somewhat represent one side of the argument on who's providing more freedom or not and what political party will introduce what next thing and nothing more and nothing less

The president can use their popularity to influence senators to vote with him, but executive orders are a strength on their own.

A big issue I see is when people refer to the economy by referencing the market, because it doesn't reflect anything moderate or of the economic situation relevant to the everyday worker.

The market is not an accurate reflection of the economic status of the country.

You could call the market a reflection of investor capital for a plethora of large businesses, but that's only highlighting the bottom line of the company, not the cost of living, actual wage or benefits to working. Looking at the market and saying it's a good economy completely rolls over the house of cards that is medical debt too. People Can be screwed over at any time, but as long as the coffers of business are padded the economy is considered good by some, well not by me it isn't.

I would believe in democracy if national polls decided policy. Not just on some random topic once every 3 years, but on everything.

It's a job of a representative to voice the majority they represent but they often choose not to. I'd like to see the majority always represented.

The constitution mandates the country operate as a representative democracy.

I’ve noticed now that conservatives seem to think the US isn’t a democracy. Just amazing shit.
