potential for Psilocybe subaeruginosa in Queensland?

SO recently ive moved up to the Gold Coast Hinterland and im about 700-800m above the sea level, and it got me thinking the potential for subs to fruit in winter. The location ive moved to has a heap of pine trees which the wiki states is ideal, also in the peak of winter its been down to the negatives. This only came to mind when i heard that someone had positively ID'd some subs down in Byron. Honestly i'm just posting this thread out of curiosity, and would like to know what's the furthest north someone has found some subs.
Cheers.

Not an Aussie so I can't give any good information except if I remember somewhat correctly they are growing in an around Brisbane, but don't take my word for it. Your best bet is to keep an eager eye out for them when season is upon you, as well as keeping an eye on the official P. subaeruginosa threads in this forum.
Please wait for someone with more local knowledge to pop in, though.

You can look through previous years threads to do some research.

Yes, however my impression is that the relatively limited number of posted observations doesn't do the species occurrence justice - considering the plenitude of finds posted each season in this forum.

How nice, the hinterland is nice. I'm from the Gold Coast and woundered the same.
I can recall, in Shroomery and another forum ( had actual pictures - in man made gardens in the mountains) of Subs being found in the Gold Coast hinterland. They may be a bit less common i would expect , its their most northern range, that said i think there was mention, not 100% sure of the Brisbane hinterland also

I'm not in Australia, but I'm aware of at least one observation north of Byron, I can't tell you where, but it's worth looking.

True mate, winter might be more interesting, bad cube season this year, you can get cubes in the mountains also, if there is cows.
