What do you want your legacy to be here?
    #25849623 -

What would you like to be remembered for on the Shroomery, if anything?

Have a personal favourite build on Oblivion
maxed out Personality stat, with Personality buffing items and spells
refer to the build as "the Happy Monk/Compassionate Nun" build
because when your Personality score is high enough in Oblivion
it counteracts the base aggression of enemies, and makes animals, monsters, and bandits all too chill to attack the player

that is basically my goal
to have a High Personality at all times

oh, uh, and also to hopefully generally calm aggressions by my presence

That's a really nice way of looking at the community here. I respect that a lot.
Especially since it's been years since I've contributed much of anything informative or helpful.
I'm forever grateful to be part of this community and be accepted by most here despite my past and current behaviors & decisions.

Love you guys, for real.

Vinsue, you've been a constant here, and with that, in my life for as long as I've been here.
Just over 7 years now.
It's amazing to see how we've all changed so much through these years.
And you're an immense inspiration to me every time I see your avatar to not drink again. Probably a lot more so than you know. Thank you.

Not that I want to add ego to this topic, but I'm just interested in how people see themselves here.
So for you, Asante, I'd like to change the question a bit.

If you had to leave some sort of legacy here, what would you want it to be? Maybe a specific piece of knowledge that you've contributed to the community?

How would you like to be remembered Kr0nik0?

I actually wrote this post out last night while thinking deeply about this, and even this morning when I posted it, I wasn't quite sure of what my answer would be.

The first 3 years I was part of this community, I was a complete derelict as a consequence of all that alcohol and drug use during that time.
I ended up becoming very close with quite a few people I met through this forum, and eventually broke their trust when they had been nothing but genuine to me. I lied for the sake of status publicly while fucked up, and emotionally hurt a couple women in the process.

I've made my amends with everyone that was part of that over these last years.

So quite a few members of the Shroomery have seen me when I was at my absolute worst in life.

I don't want that to be forgotten.

That is who I was, and still am to an extent. But it has now been almost 4 years of working on myself to be a better person every day, and it has led to some amazing experiences with amazing people.

With that said, I want people to look at my posts through the years, and see how people can actively change for the better even through the hardest of times, and times that I behaved in ways I don't respect myself for. That growing up psychologically and becoming aware of your own flaws is the first step to bringing happiness and love to yourself and others.

And that the years upon years, well, a lifetime to come of self improvement through mediums such as meditation, therapy, working out actually can make an immense positive difference in one's life.

My legacy?  I want to be remembered as the innocent baby seal that galumphed upon the ice before it engulfed me in an Anna Kavan vision rendered manifest.  I want to be remembered as the gay jaguar that prowled the temple ov pleasure as fountains ov youth bubbled with the white elixir ov life.  I want to be remembered as the black vulture that flies in the shadow cast by my body's blockade ov soular rays.  I want to be remembered as the playful panda that rolled down the hill as a cyclonic yin-yang ball.  I want to be remembered as the peacock whose psychedelic eyes danced in the winds ov chaos as the quill stirred within blood and being.  I want to be remembered as the gold moon and the silver sun.  The hanged man with a rope leading to nowhere and my purple feet dipping into a pool ov mercury.  The phoenix hatched from the egg ov restriction into a life ov love with the insight to re-member the return.  But i can only hope i reckon.

Do we even have legacies here?  Folks get put on the RIP list, some get “etched in the sands of time” in seriously_trippin’s signature, and that’s about it.  Probably the closest thing we have to an actual legacy is the automatic heart icon for posts in remembrance of acidic_sloth.

But I do remember my friends when they pass.  I’ll see some progressives getting sassy and think “oh man, zig would love to dry smash this convo”, or I’ll be going through some parenting shit and wish I could text shLong.  I guess it’s about personal connections you make, in whatever way.  I suppose I’d like to be remembered as a helpful sort.

Memories people.

Truly a legacy and the only one that "means" anything.

No the thread for it but if you're looking for purpose if you need meaning place it in your interactions with others so as to leave a positivity.

There are many more been and gone then there could ever be now.
What does a legacy mean anyhow.
Are you striving for real change and what would that look like.
Will your actions last once your inevitably out of sight.

Will the universe be more or less once your gone.
In time nobody will care.
No matter how brightly your light shone.
So why do we play fair.

We strive as though there is a finish line.
As if there will be winners.
That we can reach it in time.
Purposeful intent creating sinners.

Gluttony of self importance.
Hypocrisy of self impotence.
We allow ourselves delusions of grandeur.
Perspectives of nothingness seen as slander.

I am not important and neither are you.
This doesn't mean an easy shot through.
You see the choice is to strip away the lies and too look deep inside.
Then without validity, love like a mother when their newborn cries

Sorry, I missed this response last week when the thread was active.  I see what you’re saying Leningrad Cowboy, and I agree with it.  There are definitely some legendary things here that persist long after the person who posted them is gone.  Thumbprint thread is a great example.  Long time pubbers probably recall the “I’m so scared” thread.  I guess in that sense, my legacy here might be the “mushrooms make you gay” myth, lol.

Without a doubt it did.
That thread was reposted to r/drugs on reddit and ended up getting something like 2k karma with hundreds of responses.
Mostly from people that were eager to try DOC and seemed like Zombie's incident made them change their minds.

Is that an orgy with people that are members here?
Or having a random orgy while browsing the forums?

:elmo:

I'm very inclined to be on board with your idea.
I'd like to see a picture of Sheek's mom first, however.
I've only met Sheeks once, and if his mom looks anything like him...She can get it.

I 'aint so sure about legacy and all that stuff N what not. (Derek Lewis voice)

But I would like to be remembered as a good listener and someone that offers sound advice by carrying wisdom of other trusted members I have heard and studied over the years. I want to leave a message of order, abundance, and joy in all of our hobbies. Courage to listen and try a new way or perspective. Let my experinces shine through my words and be whole.
That's pretty much it n all that (derek lewis)

Much love for this place, and believe it or not the spirit of the shroomery is on its way back...with the changes in the world we will see. We will come together and we will communicate.
