I'm also wondering if this worked.  I'm planning on working with some grain soon and this sounds interesting.  I might give it a try!

I have thought about something like this but much simpler. I would use a 1 or 2-inch copper coupling stuffed with Polly fill and use reclosable zip ties. I use the reclosable ties to seal my bags anyway they are faster than an impulse sealer. When you are ready to fruit just release the tie and press out the air and reseal. They are able to be put in the PC without a problem...

You might need to put a water hose clamp on top and bottom of the coupling if it wants to slip out. I was thinking of using a section of copper pipe with holes drilled in it to get air all the way to the bottom.

This was only an idea but bags are cheap enough I didn't try.

The way he is doing it you would have more money in time than the 35 cents for a bag.

This would be perfect. But you would have to find it cheaper...

I’m currently experimenting with locally sourced pp5 bags turns out “cello bags” are made of polypropylene and are used in the baking and candy making industry they come in different sizes and you can also find them in “soft” or standard also I go for the gusseted standard bags over non gusseted and the soft cello bags will work but don’t stand up or stay open on there own while filling


What I’ve been doing is melting a hole in the bag with a “letter seal”
About the size of a nickel, then I cut up squares of 1500 filtrate ac unit filters and place them over the hole evenly, finally I use a 2in wide piece of micro pore tape to seal the filter onto the bag, so far so good 😊
