Definitely, this is very important, and I would recommend anyone interested in trying entheogens do this first! The most natural and gentle method is a gallon a day of steam distilled, carbon filtered PURE H20, stored in glass. This is the most important investment you will ever make in yourself.

I do live here and I've built a very strong relationship with mushrooms over the last 40 some years, involving much of what you're talking about.

I'm probably interested in discussing this sort of thing but I'm also bothered by some aspects of the OP that led me not to respond.

So maybe, maybe not.  These are deep topics with ramifications that aren't exactly what they might seem.  And they rarely lend themselves to public discussion, even on this forum, mostly because of the vast potential for misunderstanding by the inexperienced and ill-informed.

FWIW I'm not holding my breath for decriminalization, although I would welcome it.

Don't worry, you couldn't if you tried.  But there's always a certain element of skepticism that arises in posts like yours because of implied bias (correct or not).  As in nobody has a corner on any of this, no offense intended.

It's a sort of "ownership" aspect.  You can't own mushroom spirits, you can't even be a caretaker.  They don't need that and I've never seen them respect that.  They're more like Coyote the trickster, in that they'll feed you stories just to see if you believe them.  You can only earn their trust over time - but my god, once you do...

Age has nothing to do with the timeless realms - it's where the spirits dwell after all - but I just wanted to point out that I've been at it a while and sometimes know what I'm talking about. :laugh2:

The ramifications are part of the process, i.e. your unintended consequences - but when you get into deep aspects online people immediately misunderstand because literally they do not understand.  Which is why I'm cautious about discussing some aspects.  People just aren't ready for it I've found and because it challenges everything they think they've learned they actively reject it sometimes.

But if you're interested in deeper background you could check out my journals, I've documented some of it there.

I'll post more later when I have more time.  :awesomenod:

Cool man. Yeah no offense taken.
Im not implying that nobody has a corner in this, Im actually acknowledging that there are probably others who are working in their own way, and this is an attempt to connect with them. I am also acknowledging that we have no elders and no real lineage for the mushrooms that grow here in North America, but I am contemplating the roots of such a thing, however far off it may be, I am opening a discussion. If people meet and become friends and develop ceremony or ritual together, and it truly takes hold, and they happen to teach their kids how to cultivate and connect and preserve and evolve their practice with this fungus, then they pass it down and so on and so forth, we may be looking at something very profound 100, 500  years from now. Something that we are lacking here in our country for many reasons. This has happened in other countries and cultures all over the world but never here.

I am not coming from a place of wanting to own anything. The name of this thread is 'cultivating authentic relationship' this has nothing to do with ownership and everything to do with respect, trust, and a mutual symbiosis. We help spread mushrooms, we help hold space for them to work in a clean container,  they help us heal, which then helps them again and really the whole world, one heart at a time, because a clean heart means harmony, true harmony with the earth equals the benefit of all plants animals and people.  I am familiar with the tests of spirit, although through the process of diets, commitments, and finely attuning ourselves, we can begin to gain that trust over time. I hold a very fine study of mediumship and connecting with spirits (both higher and lower) I have dedicated my very short life so far to all aspects of spirit communication both through plants and through trance, and by no means am I under the false impression that anyone can own anything. That is not what it's about, it's about individual sovereignty for all parties, working together towards one goal, which I believe is the health and unity of all beings.

And as far as the ramifications of people not being ready to read something they stumble across, I am not God, (as an individual) and I do not decide these things, I do not get to say who is ready for what. I trust life, and if someone comes across something deeply disturbing to their tightly held beliefs and they reject it, maybe they actually were ready, and that it was exactly what was meant to happen.. so I will not let that stop me from discussing openly what is on my heart and in my mind. I will not stay hidden due to risk of offending or confusing someone, because I have faith in  life and in the spiritual guides of all people. I known I've  learned things that I rejected at some point in the past only to come to an understanding years after, and I am deeply grateful for those experiences, even the lesson learned in rejecting something that became useful to me later.

I really appreciate your input my friend. I understand your caution as these are serious matters, but these are serious times. I am truly enjoying this discussion and I fully honor your perspective. Looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on this.
Will definitely be checking out your journal!

OK, in the journals I recommend starting with the multiverse breakthrough experience (it's actually in Trip Reports, had to dig it up): Primal's Tripping Point

That was really what started the whole physics experimental protocol rolling, when I finally realized "yes this is impossible" and "yes this is really happening" both at the same time.  There have been other equally evocative multiverse/timeline experiences which I may or may not have documented.  I don't know without checking.

You could also check the "screaming ghosts" positive finding re superposition  for more recent directions.  This describes something of the program I'm still pursuing, planning for this summer to work through some of the finer details.  Gotta get to growing!

You're in PDX?  I'm in Salem.  Maybe we could meet up in Wilsonville some afternoon? PM me if interested.  It'd be a lot easier to just chat over coffee or whatever.

Hey twigglez, shamanic ayurveda sounds like a very interesting practice. What type of diet would you recommend someone if they wanted to highly sensitize themselves to the more subtle energies of the mushrooms?

Sensitize yourself to the natural chemical cocktail trying to be brewed in you as we speak, I would recommend the best quality Birds/Fish/Vegetables/Fruit you can afford, eliminate all self harm, sugar/cigarettes/alcohol etc, drink at least gallon of the PUREST water you can find a day, this is steam distilled carbon filtered, the only thing better than that for healing/detox is your own urine, which is structured and free. I also recommend at least 20+ hour intermittent fasting, and you can go longer as you cleanse yourself as your natural intuition will guide you once you are healthy.

Anyone receive any music, songs, rhythms, icaros during their experiences?

Music, absolutely.  I have many hours of electric guitar recorded during trips, and then there are the audio hallucinations, though they don't record too well.  Songs from all sorts of sources, including across deep time.  Healing modalities as well - different sorts of methods albeit more personal.

Glad you enjoyed the journal material.  I need to make it more accessible as part of my ongoing work, but it's not my day job nor do I intend it to be.

Nice suggestions twiggelz, thanks man! how do you feel about added salt? all of the dietas i've done in south america exclude salt and spicy food, whats your take on this? I know its very grounding, and a trick i learned in Peru is actually to take a pinch of salt and put it in the mouth of a person who is spinning out of control after taking ayahuasca, as a last result of course. I witnessed a curandero do this once. sometimes when i cut out salt among other things, I feel like i could just float away into the celestial realms if i'm not careful.

Primal Soup, Would love to hear them sometime.. is there a way to post audio files? I would totally upload some of my guitar and vocals received during mushroom experiences. haha Yeah i know! i cant even tell you how many times i've thought to myself "if i could only record what i'm hearing in my head right now..." Wow! healing modalities?? sounds amazing, what does that look like? I am technically a certified reiki practitioner, but i've slowly moved away from reiki and more into intuitive work. I've also learned some shamanic clearing techniques in the jungle ie. "soplos" blowing air and tobacco smoke through certain parts of the body. i find both of these techniques very effective with the mushrooms.. I also incorporate spirits through mediumship sometimes.. sometimes with the mushrooms i am moved by different beings.  it feels as though my body is being moved, and like something else is looking through my eyes.. they direct me to click snap whistle clap and blow to clear energies from myself and others, the power of sound vibration is astonishing!

anyone else have experience with mediumship, spirits, or guides working through you??

I use salt very rarely for anything as I don't have a need for it when practicing nutrient recycling.

Hey they were all recorded on an old modded cassette deck that didn't run at normal speed and finally died.  I have a newer deck I bought used to convert them and I could bring them up to digital, been planning to, and pitch correct.  Some cool shit on there though, the expansiveness of the trip leads to some amazing results - some of them I've played quite a lot during later trips.  I'll see what I can do.  :awesomenod:

Healing modalities, well, mostly I've mostly worked with spirit intervention, mostly for others but once in a while for myself.  Ritual objects (river stones) can be charged to carry vibrational energy to recipients (as in, say, "difficult" people to relate too).  The results from the spiritual transmission were easily noticeable in the (AKA) real world by coworkers (in that case their family members).  Interesting for sure.

I've found that casting stones and crystals for prophecy works, but I've also received accurate precognitive visions.  Which brings me to:

Much of the work I've been doing relates to establishing quantum superposition states between future events and present timeline branches - this allows (I hope) a situation that's either predicting random events in the future, or influencing past events from the future, depending on your point of view.  Since superposition states are both nonlocal and noncasual it doesn't violate quantum theory - just hasn't been applied.  I'm working on applying it.  A 40 bit number, known in advance, can fully specify the outcome of any Powerball drawing.  You might see the possibilities here.

Thank you for that Liquid Light. I too have been thinking about how to apply the dieta concept locally. I'm in the SF bay area, and a recent re-introduction into psychedelics has coincided with new focus on getting out into the forest. I feel drawn to try to connect to certain plants, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Just starting to learn, and it's a long, slow road. I have participated in Ayahuasca ceremonies up here, but I'm not sure I need to go down to South America, it's the plants here on the coast that draw me. I'm just starting by using the mushroom, solo in a forest setting. But I want to find out if any of our local trees might good ones to possibly go on a mini-dieta, just sort of stay out somewhere a few days, on a plain diet, drinking a tea made of the plant, doing mushrooms, and see if anything comes of it. I suspect that with Ayahuasca and mushrooms, you kind of need to learn directly from their use, and take what others say with a grain of salt; respect tradition and recommendations, but reserve judgement and go by your own experience. That said, any anecdotal knowledge of what kinds of connections with various trees would be useful information across a community. Certainly the vary basic knowledge of medicinal uses etc is what I'm looking at as well.

Re: Cultivating authentic relationship with the Mushroom [Re: superreggie]
    #25851050 -

Superreggie, i think that's a wonderful start..
I have done this with Doug fir, Pine, and Ghost pipe with positive results and successful connection with the spirits of those plants (separate occasions)
i have heard of people doing dietas with Cedar as well, but you would want to be careful with that as i hear large amounts can be toxic..
I really want to diet Bear(osha) root, or Devil's Club next, both are incredibly protective spirits used by many tribes here up north.. does it grow around you down there? They say once you diet a plant and gain its trust, you can call on it to heal other people if you use it on them.. for example by putting it in their brew, or by having them chew it during ceremony.
sometimes i make flower waters and add tree resins dissolved in alcohol as a cleansing tool similar to the agua florida used by mestizos. i like to work with doug fir and juniper a lot..

I really believe one can diet any plant, and i've even heard of people dieting minerals too..many other cultures diet plants other than just in South america, there are different ways to do it.
in South America, generally they wont give you ayahuasca during dieta, because you want to be focusing on one plant at a time.. so they'll open your diet with an ayahuasca ceremony, then they will close it with another ayahuasca ceremony, but in the middle you only connect with the plant you are dieting, with a few exceptions.. i find it to be a very interesting way to see just what exactly is accompanying you at the end of the diet, and how different it is than when you started, you can really start to get a feel for the energy of the plant you just dieted in your system

there is a good group on facebook called "Dieta of teacher plants and trees"
highly recommend it! you can ask questions and get answers, there are several people dieting north american plants if you search the group for posts.. Good luck! and keep me posted if you decide to try. there is a lot of knowledge of the physically medicinal qualities of the plants around us, and slowly people are starting to document the psycho spiritual aspects of the plants as well. I think the mushrooms can definitely help us learn these things, would love to keep in touch and share our finds..

Interesting, PrimalSoup.
im very impressed, superposition states are a little beyond my comprehension, though I would love to hear more about this as you continue working on these concepts! I will definitely be doing some research on this..

River rocks huh? i like that very much, it sounds similar to what some people may do with store bought crystals, although this is what im talking about using whats around us in nature.. right on! im collecting river rocks this weekend for a new sweat lodge we are building and will keep this in mind..
it seems river rocks would be very good for cleansing as they are already charged with the rushing of the water..I have had river and ocean water used on me and in the room for cleansing in other indigenous ceremonies
would you charge them and place the stones on people or what?

it´s definitely been a hardcore initiation in the last 6 months offering these ceremonies. our team has grown to 15, and people from all over are visiting and wanting to be involved now. i don´t know what i´m in, but it´s definitely taken over my life.
