Replaced a pressure release valve, bit it is still "dripping." (Solved)

Edit: in my case, I simply needed plumbers tape.
First, the valve leaks from the time I turn it from off to on. Is that normal?
Second, when the valve is set to on (connected to dryer), it still leaks around the new valve area. It's a very small leak, but still.
Maybe it's a psi issue?
