Got a Japanese pull saw for coir... still a lot of work LOL

Also guess I'm showing off my mushroom tattoo. It's about 4-ish years old now.

Nice... both the tat and saw. What are you sawing the coir for? Do you buy the big blocks? Recently, I've just been doing a block or two at a time and letting it sit until I need it. I know people like Munch do this, I haven't had any issues.

Yeah... the blocks. Honestly... it was a fun little $8 experiment but I won't be using for this purpose. It'll go into the tool box for other bullshit.

My arm was sore after getting 150g of coir so I pulled out the flathead screwdriver and hammer and finished the last 50g w/o too much effort.

Haha gotcha! Yeah Petco's coir is $6 for a 3 pack of the 650g blocks (if you order online & pickup in-store). Haven't found a much better deal . Plus I don't have to fire up the bandsaw to hydrate some substrate

I always use a screwdriver and a hammer to pound the tip through and chunk it into slivers I break up with my hands.

I get my coir from chewy it's cheaper.

When I make coir I just add cool water and close the lid and let it sit for a few hours or overnight. When you come back to mix it it should be moist enough thru the entire block to mix easily with hands.

I had bad luck hydrating coir with cold water. Mycelium colonized it extremely slow

Personally I've seen no difference between cooked and non cooked coir

I'm super excited to do that this yeah I got clones, tons of seeds and most importantly space to use them all.

I already smoked all my outdoor from last year unfortunately.

To keep this post on topic I got a 9 tray dehydrator yesterday. I'll post pic later.

That's crazy.  I tried doing that and Inocuole made fun of me for being a lazy ass and cutting too many corners.  I also did get contams before even seeing pins. I think he called me something along the lines of "the most corner cuttingest mother-fucker".

Maybe I will try again.

BlueTooth headphones.  You might think "that's not cultivation related..."  but let me tell you that I specifically bought these to enjoy while working in front of my flow hood.  Who wants to listen to a droning blower for hours at a time?  I'd rather listen to a podcast or crank some tunes.  Oh yea and they have noise cancelling, and it's crazy how quite the flow hood is once that is turned on.

Fuck yeah! I almost through my (non noise cancelling) headphones on the other night. Definitely will be next time. I'm working in an SAB and it'd deafening

Yep,  I got Bose qc35 ii, and man it makes the pressure cooker so much less annoying.  And airports.  And kids.  And life in general.

Inocuole was/is a twat with the loudest signal to noise ratio on the Shroomery for talking shit vs. actually growing. Very little of what he posted seemed to be from his actual experience, he'd piggyback on whatever Pasty or bod would say to appear knowledgeable, and would actively discourage new members whenever possible with his shitty attitude. All while posting how many canopies? Or even putting forth new ideas?

The dude's biggest contributions are rehashing already well understood and documented things like how to prep coir and boil oats. Revolutionary stuff. He spent 7 years doing A2G because he wasn't confident enough in his sterile technique to go beyond. I'm not surprised a dude can recite common knowledge after spending 8 years on the boards racking up 25,000 posts. I could regurgitate RR's answers to a huge % of questions in my first couple months.

Dude bragged about people ignoring him, would reference "slaying noobs", and somehow equated being a miserable cunt to people trying to learn as something badass or cool. He's a bum.
