Buying a new bicycle! HeLp
    #2578269 - 04/19/04 02:39 PM (19 years, 11 months ago)

Okay so I work for K2 Sports. I got a pro-form for the K2 Bikes. I can get any bike I want, but I'm confused on what to get!! I want a bike that I can go upstate with, local trails with, nothing too terribly extreme but nothing that will hold me back from doing the fun shit. I also want to be able to just ride to the store if I have to.

Now remember - I am limited to the K2 brand only. PLEASE someone help!

http://www.k2bike.com/04products/full/lithium4.asp - looks like a good do everything bike.

a hardtail is a bike with only suspension on the front. the bike he mentioned is a rather nice bike that is more or less inteded for cross country racing.

Go for something simple, something light weight. I have a "specialized" bike, they are called, very awesome. Made of cold aluminium? Very light weight, very strong. Look for something which isnt going to be like racing, something which can go off road, but something that isnt for the extreme biker. Im not familliar with K2 bike brands, but i will look and see if i find anything which you might like. I think i understand what you are looking for.

I love my bike, it can go fast, it can go off road, its light and i can carry it easily if i have to. Makes me feel like i can fly...  :rocket:  :stoned: .

I love BMX's, dont want to get any other bikes than BMX's... even though they arent so suitable for everything they sure are fun to ride.

If you don't have to buy right away, find a shop that rents. When you think you've picked one out, rent it and take it for a run. Your impression of the comfort of a bike will change once you've taken it for a hard ride. Just taking a test ride at the shop isn't sufficient.

People who ride probably know what they'd get already. My first real bike was a total bloke though after a fun runs, I was clueless.

whatever you pick, make sure to get another lock to lock the rims to the frame... and all the other detachable parts... stuff that's quick release is insta-jack.

okay change of mind!!!! Im getting the K2 ZED 2.0

I talked to a customer service person and we went over the Newport, Arcadia and the ZED and he agrees that I am better off with the ZED 2.0 - he says that i'll learn faster with a hardtail anyway.

YAY! I'm so excited!!! my first real bike. woohoo!
