6 new shoeboxes coming on line. Spawned 9 days ago. Thought they still needed a few more days before going in to fruiting conditions. Finally took a closer look at them tonight. Didn't realize I had been neglecting them. The 100% coir layer on top was super dry and desperately needed a misting.

Check out these 3 in particular. Knotting up like crazy. Getting ready to blow.

Then the other 3. Nowhere near as much knotting, but a few pins already.

Then my set up. All of that crammed in to my little bedroom. lol. Now tell me you don't have the room to grow pounds of mushrooms.

5 shoeboxes third flush just coming up. The 6 new shoeboxes coming on line(Not pictured). 5 - 110 quart monotubs colonizing. Tubs 1 & 2 were spawned the same time as the shoeboxes and are on day 9. Tub 1 is the furthest along and has the first few pins forming. Tubs 3, 4 and 5 were a day later and are on day 8. Still colonizing. 12 more 3.1 kg extra large spawn bags colonizing. 2 are MS PE. The others are all a trusted culture of Cuban. A clone approaching an isolate. 6 of 'em are ready to spawn in a couple of days. 4 more probably a day or two later. The MS ones will be a while yet. The tubs all needed a misting as well. The tops were drying up. Getting excited as these all get ready to blow up.

So I was putting those shoeboxes in to fruiting conditions. Drilling out a couple more 110 quart tubs and putting 'em in when I took a closer look at these and the 3 that the tops are not covered in knots are completely blitzed in side pins and bottom pins. Obviously the dried out top didn't leave decent pinning conditions so they pinned everywhere else. A fruit is a fruit, so I won't complain, especially when it's just little shoeboxes. So new plan. I will leave them in here until the pins start growing and running out of room and then I'll take them out and fruit them as cakes in a humidity chamber. Fruiting off all 6 sides.

Mediocre pinset, unmodified tub. Thing dried out a lot and I kinda neglected it but pushed out some decent fruits

Nicer view of the bootbox

and a random shot, veil with the spore print looks cool

Looks like those pins are ready to launch that mix out the box haha

A sad box of Orissa outdoors, bad spawn, bad coir prep, bad everything else, but it started fruiting and has more pins behind the surface.

Originally from bod's oats prep:

I prep for 24 jars at a time. Enough for 3 PC cycles. At 200g per jar, that's 4.8 kg. I prep these batches ahead of time into 10ish litre buckets, so I don't need to weigh out grains every time. In to the bucket goes some gypsum, and DE.

In to my Presto 23 goes the grain, and hot water to just below the lid. That goes onto the stove on the highest setting. I then set my timer to 60 minutes.

By the time the timer goes off, it is towards the end of the boil, a nice rolling boil. If doing for LC, I stop the boil just before any grains burst. If G2G or A2G receiver, I stop when I see a few burst grains in each large spoonful I pull up.

If I need it, I take a litre or two of the water, filter through a sieve, and into media bottles for the freezer. That gets used for agar and LC, sometimes with a bit of added dextrose.

I empty the ready oats into an old small SGFC. That gets stirred up once or twice, then I go to bed, leaving that to dry overnight.

In the morning, I test with my hands, and load them all. I normally do the three PC cycles by that afternoon.

I don't know how y'all get these long boils without busting all the grains.  At around 15 minutes my hulls are opening up
