Shrooms mulled wine attempt

I put 50 grams of wet frozen cubes into some red wine, heated up almost to boiling but not quite (I don't mind alcohol evaporating away though) and steeped at that temperature for 5-7 minutes while repeatedly reheating. I expected the shrooms to turn into mush as they were frozen wet, but contrary to many testimonies they just rehydrated and remained quite firm. I tried squishing them with a spoon but it didn't work so after some more steeping I put them into a pan with some butter and salt and sauteed for a bit. They turned out quite tasty, I am eating them right now, chasing them down with hot mulled wine they were steeped in. My only regret is not making proper mulled wine but using a quick dissolvable mix of spices (mostly sugar). I'll report on the trip later but I am already starting to feel something and I haven't even finished eating and drinking yet, I feel like I am in for quite a ride. Wow it is coming on super fast.

The shrooms were still on my plate but their spirit was already in me. It took 10 minutes for tracers to start appearing, by far the fastest I've experienced. It is hard for me to believe it was less than 5 hours ago. The best trip I've had so far, not a pleasant one though, many a realization was made. It is still not over. What a rollercoaster, so much I want to tell, but you probably know it anyway.

Interesting.

I ferment ciders, meads, and country wines.

I have considered making an infusion of sorts in some of my meads, but never did it; I was afraid of wasting/ruining both components. 

I would hate to boil anything I made and drive off flavors and EtOH.  Especially after taking weeks to months to make it.  I mean most of the alcohol and actives will still be there, but I am afraid of it tasting like ass.

I figured just steeping in the finished product for a few days or maybe put some pulverized material in the secondary fermentation.

Try it, even if it fails, you don't have to use a whole lot so hopefully it wouldn't be a big deal.

How acidic your meads are? I could be wrong but I think acidity plays a significant role in this (I used dry wine), although my experiences with lemon and citric acid were also quite different from this wine experiment.

I am very sensitive to alcohol but the next morning I have zero hangover so I am guessing it did evaporate after all. The trip still was affected in a negative way though because I kept thinking that it could be influenced by alcohol.
