Are these cakes OK?
    #2581862 - 04/20/04 11:18 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I birthed these cakes yesterday, and was about to put some verm on top of them when I noticed slight discoloration on one of them... I doesn't quite look like anything in the FAQ, and it's been suggested to me that it may have come from not sterilizing my verm? Are these cakes OK? If the two are contaminated, can I throw them out and still save the third?

Also, I realize that I should've used perlite in the bottom of the chamber... I'm going to change it ASAP.

Dude toss them before they infect your other cakes, the cakes you "highlighted" are obviously contaminated (from what I can see).

I forgot to mention that these cakes have been incubating for almost 6 weeks now. Might this be "mycelium piss?"

They don't smell unusual or anything. I tried to scrape off the discoloration with a sterilized scalpel, and now there is light bluish-green discoloration where the knife touched them. But this appeared literally seconds after I scraped them... Did I bruise the mycelium, maybe? I'm so sad :frown:

the bluish green is bruising, i wouldnt worry about that, it will heal, but the other kinda looks like piss, just keep an eye on it, if it spreads then toss it
