Yesum, are you saying plastic being cut away as in your just fruiting them in the bags? Just curious!
I want to give bags a go again I still have 20 laying around here but the first 5 I did my grain prep was off and they got bacterial fast. 1/5 I was comfortable spawning and is almost colonized now, spawned to a monotub with coir.

Yes. I'm just gonna cut the bag away and fruit the blocks in tubs.
What I did here was I bagged up coir. Sterilized it in my 941s. Then inoculated each bag with a quart of grain spawn in front of my flowhhod. I did this because my cultures are weakened because of my well water. That's why my brother NC hooked me up with a RO water system. This next set of jars I have on deck I'll spawn open air into a tub like normal.

Could you explain, "cultures are weakened by well water". I've not heard of this before, or having to use an RO system for mush cultivation..

Some wells (it's mainly the faucet) produce iron and sulfur reducing bacteria. But it is rare. I thought it was my issue for awhile, but it's all my prep thats fucked

It is rare. But its definitely what I'm experiencing. I can grow mushrooms. Been Doing it here and there for a little bit. Anyways it started since I moved.
My water smells like a hard boiled fart.
Snowman tech in my journal. But rather then using snow. I was gifted a RO system.

My fellow myceliated friends. You'll see me posting like I used to here really soon.

My DIY beast mode dehydrator. I still need to make 6 more of the screen racks so it will hold 12 total. Should be able to stuff 12 monotubs in it which should dry to about 4 pounds. Go big or go home. I seen it hit 150f without any fans. I added 2 60mm computer fans at the top to assist in a bit of air movement, and it runs about 140f with air movement, which is key for good drying. IF I have to I will find a way to up the temps, but I have dried shrooms at about 100f over a light bulb, in like 12 hours.

I still don't understand, anyone have links? Usually well water can have more minerals and dissolved solids, but "iron and sulfer reducing bacteria"?
Wut?

Nice build Madhatter I'm planning on moving at the end of March, so I'm planning on building one after I move. I was planning on something similar. A box fan and a space heater. Build it based on the size of the box fan. Do you have details on it? Dimensions? etc

Quick little explanation. Sulfur and iron are natural fungicides.
Here is someone that documented his issue over the period of about a year. This very same shit is happening to me since I moved to this new place. And old farm house that was built in the early 1900s. Very old well as well. This happenes to every single culture I start. It happens to edible cultures that ppl send me too. Every single culture. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22550053
My wbs prep is on point too

Ok, do you happen to have any links to well water/high sulfer and iron content water effecting mushroom cultivation? Have you had your water tested to see what the sulfer levels are at? Why is it popular to add gypsum (and vermiculite in CVG) to substrate, which is a direct source of sulfer afaik?
I'm asking honestly, not trying to be a dick. 😃

I do not. All I know is when I prep everything with my well water. I get moldy tubs. When I prep everything with bottled spring or RO water I get fruits. 🤷♂️
GB said his water was at 420ppm and had a ph of 7
Ans being that sulfur and iron are primary components in fungicides. It would make sense.
