We already have so many homeless and on the system.  Being on heroin all the time is all some want to do.  That's sad.

Nobody really has a solution, but secrets don't help.

People see alcoholism as a issue with legalisation but when you really break it down, they drink because its all thats legal. During prohibition the alcohol was the highest proof to transport less volumn, just like heroin or in this case FENTANYL RCs as an example rather than opium.
The Police were getting slaughtered at a much higher rate because they were trying to enforce a BS law.
The drug abuse comes from your life being nagative whether that being upward mobility, emotional issues or self insecurities etc etc. There will always be a % of people who abuse, whether its hard drugs drinking or shopping gambling or food! The issue has always been prohibition causes the bad consequences.
Just look at gambling, it was always worst in locations it was illegal in, black market takes over and people having to hide it! The places where it was legal attracted gaming and the betters that took a beating financially licked there wounds and stopped betting. The population in las vegas isn't  gamblers its people working profitting from gamblers. Being there year round under a pro prohibition persons logic would be full of all gambling addicts broke/homeless and thats just not true!

The US unlike Portugal counts on the prohibition to profit. We fund a drug war privatize prisons, invest in a police state to keep it suppressed and steal everything that the person caught owns.
regardless of how there possesions  are liquidated be it asset forfeiture or legal expenses.
Our medical industry is fully private and they are not good at sharing!
Our leaders are like the mafia, they fight the drug war while supplying the drugs, Like the Mafia charging for protection.

The BIG BUSINESS will never allow it, it would end BIG PHARMA,BIG ALCOHOL,DEA FBI PIC etc etc
These drug warriors make there living off prohibition to control there monopoly and even worse they are the main ones bringing in the illegal drugs but they never get caught, we are not in Afghanistan to bring democracy or protect oil, its the opium we want!  We get it for BIG PHARMA and the rest gets delivered to major cities and stepped on from there.  If a barrel of oil sells for $50, whats a barrel of Heroin worth?
If it was all being smuggled over Mexico border, than the border states would have the best shit as opposed to NY,Calif and Chicago.
They blame CHINA for the Fentanyl RC version, like the US labs don't have the talent to produce this horrid product?

We have been brainwashed and the only way this gets toppled is as this next generation reaches voting age and is tired of being repressed. The BIG PHARMA and police state have ruined them with meds to suppress there free Thought but legalising the weed is slowly fixing that issue and they will come to there senses and end the problems prohibition has inflicted on us all!
The pendelum has swung but it will take time, the under 40s will gradually take the vote control and will free up the past generations mess. The issue is that they will have more financial burdens then we ever dreamed and that leads to abuse!

Nobody who isnt ready to get dope if they get the money regardless of how- and thats already 99% current addicts and 1% crazies wants to just Start being a heroin addict.

The legalization of heroin will lower the rate of addiction.

There will be less dealers to offer to some kids who end up loving that numbness and finally finding release from their crazy ass world.

Say every heroin user was registered. So many problems would simply go away. All the cartels and criminals providing heroin. Now they arent needed anymore. There IS a solution. There just isnt a ready solution to addiction besides toughing it out and different subsitution/tapering. And this is not the problem in question right now
