Can I use salt to dry shrooms or is it bad?

Depends on how you use it.

I use calcium chloride as a desicant, to dry my friends. Regular sodium chloride can be used as well. Just make sure the fruits do not come into contact with the salt you choose to use.

In my opinion, using salt is an excellent method for finishing the drying of any fungus. I would not suggest it for the complete drying, from start to finish, of fruits though. Use a fan to dry them most of the way and then salt to finish them off.

i just go into like... home depot into the section with the suitcases... and jack all the dessicant packets out of them.... i usualy stick them in like... an old yogurt container sitting on top of some dessicant packets with others on top... but only after drying under flowing air for a day or two.

go to the thrift store, buy a dehydrator for like 5 bucks, take it home open it, (does not matter how) find heating element(looks like the inside of a hair dryer usualy) cut any wire leading to or from the heating element. now plug it back in (because im sure you are smart enough to unplug it before you go sniping wires) turn it on, if the fan still works, unplug it, put it back together, if not go get another one, and try not to fuck this one up. if it works your shrooms will dry over night.

Spaghetti shrooms might dry over night.
