Every now and then, only on special occasions when I feel something more important is going on, which is rare in my life.

Example, attending a Tool concert instead of working in a kitchen. I was denied the request for the day off and said fuck it, I'm going with my friends to this cool concert. Was the Laterlaus tour, in Michigan.

Never, when i got old i started getting enough medical problems i figured i better not because i may need those sick days. So far at this gig I had

Mono 10 days (sickest I have ever been)

broken ankle 2 weeks, broke for 6 weeks but I'm so important my employer picked me up and dropped me off for a month

stroke 3 weeks. Everyone thought I was going to die was super nice when i came back 

kidney stones 3 days

Plus various days here and there for colds and flus


IMO people who take days off for hangovers aren't even men

i play hookey from the internet every day, but when i was in high school i would cut class and the officer didnt stop me because i didnt have more classes those day...

I called in a few times for anxiety attacks late 2017 early 2018 before I quit and went on 6 months vacation.

I'm still on 90 day probation at a new job so no hookey for me.

Never. I own a business and my customers depend on me. When I was working for someone else my apprentices and boss were counting on me to be there so I couldn't call in. If I want to take a day off to go dirt biking then I have to put it on the schedule and hope nobody has an emergency that day.

I pretty much never skip out on work, I have to have a pretty good reason to skip out. I only call out if I'm sick.

I skipped school all the time though when I was younger, even at my university I would skip classes just to get high, play games, go out and do shit.

I eventually realized it all meant I had to make that time up later and it wasn't good, I started to get some self discipline and just man up.

So I filled the pills for free

Never took them they were like look how good you do now

I made sure everyone found out

Was like shame on you to them

I play hookey on average once every couple months. Sometimes I’m not sick.. sometimes I’ve had a crazy night beforehand. We all need a mental health day sometimes. Beach trip!

I often feel guilty though.. like I’m leaving my team hanging.

I was just fucking around. I have three weeks vaca, 4 floating holidays and 40hrs sick leave. If I burn all that up my boss will let me charge the time I miss to a job if need be. I've been missing no days since my recovery from my last surgery. I sometimes sell my vacation back at the end of the year. Not this year though, I'm putting in for vaca this summer. I'm taking every Monday and Friday off on the pay periods. Three day work weeks with four day weekends.:hehehe:

Sick leave would be nice.  Wish I had it.  But I'm spoiled with time off.

I think I average 10 to 14 weeks of holidays each year.  The nature of my shift/tour work, allows me to really stretch my time off.  When I take a 2 day tour off, my 2 regular days off before the tour and the 3 regular days off after the tour...make that a 7 day stretch. Every 6 weeks I accumulate an "averaging day off"(for hours I work in excess of 40 hours each week).  Its a day off without pay but I'm entitled to it.  So every 6 weeks I book that off and on the other day I burn 12 hours vacation

12 hours vacation for a 7 day stretch off.

watermelon mon, i relate to your experiences with school.  i wonder how many people that come to this website could relate to that kind of experience.

as in a commonality among psychedelic users.

the school system never seemed to serve any of my psychedelic friends well.

that's not to so learning isn't amazing,

school just isn't a system or a place with a design where learning can ideally take place.
