Mushroom identification - SE QLD Australia rain forrest
    #25802419 -

Hi all,

For the past few months I have been trying to find some shrooms, going out once a week to look around without luck.

Today I had some luck in a rain Forrest but no clue if they are psychoactive..

Habitat:
Rainforest, 30 mins drive up a mountain. very wet, lots of termite dust, wet leaves, vines, moss, branches that crumble under your feet when walked on from being eaten out/wet. Like 15 mins off the path trail I was on. High enough that there was a mist/fog in the air

Gills:
Beige my apologies for blury gill pic. Hopefully easier to see in the ruler pic (which is 1-2 hrs after picking)

Stem:
1-2cm, has gone dark brown/black since picking

Cap:
1 - 2.5cm

Spore print colour:
Awaiting spore to set on foil, will update asap. They where in a bag in my car while I drove home. Has been atleast 1 hr and no sign of spore yet. Is foil or paper better for spore print?

Bruising:
Nothing obvious, they have gone more pale since picked tho. They have lost that golden colour on the cap

But here's some photos anyways. Can anyone ID for me please?

I normally look in cow paddocks in rural areas about 2-3 hrs south of brisbane but it's been very dry there with little rain so figured I'd try something more adventurous in the rain Forrest. Will also include some of my other mycology finds from this morning. Ultimately I want to make spore syringes for personal use so I don't need to hunt anymore so I'd be very happy if these are the real deal.

The location of the rainforest is in a national park and on the Nat parks website for mushroom species, p cubes are listed as a species that occurs. I'm fairly new to all this, I thought they had to go blue if psychoactive? And didn't know the magic ones could grow from trees. Can someone clarify for me?

No. Those aren't the droids you're seeking.

Looks like a Galerina sp. Toxic.

You should be looking in cow dung for Psilocybe cubensis and Panaeolus cyanescens. You wont find psychoactive mushrooms growing from wood in your area.

Here were my other finds. Again blury photos, It was quite tight and frantic going thru the Forrest, and wasn't checking my pics after taking.

I can't seem to upload them directly via shroomery.. Here's an imgur album instead

The black ones with white rims were right next to the ones I've picked.

That's cool. I clicked on the link.

Little Red one is probably Cruentomycena viscidocruenta.

The others we really need close up and in focus pictures of both the cap and underside of the cap to id with any certainty. Do this with future id requests and we can help you a lot better.

Aw fuck.

Well thank you anyways. I guess it's back to Nimbin area cow paddocks til I can find something viable.

So fucking dry out there though! I went yesterday and had no luck. So depressing :frown:

Ah I should have done so. I was only looking for beige shrooms with gold tops as I'm quite a novice at all this. I more got the photos of the other ones just to have photos of them.

Beautiful creatures, thanks for your help mate.

No worries. Just study the ones that you're after. You should find them once conditions are right. A mate of mine had some luck 3 days ago, a day after a storm came through. Maybe head out after the next rain you get. Whenever that comes....

I was running around looking at anything that even resembled a mushroom for a while and just recently found what I was looking for. It's awesome when you get it right. I'm in Far North Queensland, cows are the key I think for the Gold tops. Here's a few we've got in the last week.

Well I wasn't satisfied with my attempts so I tried a new paddock closer to home. Found these guys growing from cow poo. Lots of poo but not many shrooms..searched for about 20 to 30 mins. Maybe need more rain?

They bruised blue when I picked and cracked the big stem open

Currently making spore prints on paper with the 2 that had visible gills so I can hopefully cultivate my own eventually. What board on shroomery has a guide for making spore print/keeping them for up to a month? (if possible)

Here we go.

I'm fairly certain they are active but can a expert pls confirm.

The bluing is hard to make out in The photos, some of the brownish spots are infact a deep blue
