Questions about San Pedro/Mescaline cactus * 1
    #25802054 -

Hey!

So I've never taken mescaline. I did attempt an extraction on some dried San Pedro before but yielded nothing- either I blew it or it wasn't good cactus. My DMT extractions have always been on point, I should have been able to manage it .

But now I kinda just want a pet cactus. One to grow and look at and eventually harvest from.

Peyote would be cool but since I live in the northeastern U.S. I can't get it and I think growing it from seed might be out of my league.
Do you agree?

I'm not sure how to tell if I an ordering a decent live San Pedro cactus or if I am getting an ornamental specimen that won't probably produce.

Thanks!

Very difficult to say
You gotta find a good vendor
I would say not to grow Peyote from seed for one yes because it’s illegal
And two because it’s going to be years and years before you have anything usable
If you wanna grow
Grow San Pedro or Bridhesil
You should also go ahead and buy an extra foot or two for yourself
What kind of extraction did you try I may be able to help

Cacti are majestic things. Every nursery around here has San Pedros. No idea about growing peyote from seed, but would be a fun project. I think it usually takes multiple years to reach maturity though.

I think San Pedro can be a crapshoot in terms of potency. Maybe some vendors have good luck by propagating potent cuttings, but not sure. Trichocereus bridgesii is more consistently potent.

yeah, also curious about your extraction. I find that tea with bridgesii is hard to beat.

It was a couple years ago now, I believe it wasn't too different from an acid/base extraction for DMT except it used Xylene for the pulls
Something like that

Bolivian torch that was the one I was thinking of, I forgot about Trichocereus bridgesii. Really I'd just like to have a couple to grow, and then use when the time is right.

How do you make your tea with the Trichocereus bridgesii?

Good San Pedro isn’t hard to find.
Just boil it for a while drink the goo.
I think it’s important to fast before.

If you got DMT, I'm surprised it didn't work for you. The main difference is that most mescaline teks acidify again at the end to get a salt, which is better for taking by mouth compared to freebase.

I wouldn't even bother with a/b or alcohol extraction though because tea is simpler and very efficient. I can't find the tek I used back in the day, but I just diced up the cactus, did three pulls in simmering water with a little lemon juice, filtered through a strainer, and then reduced to a small glassful. Made tea from 3 ft for me and my boy, which put me in the Amazonian spirit realm. One foot would be plenty.

If you must do an extraction I’d recommend isopropyl tar
I’ve been interested about pure mescaline and white mescaline salt and all that but I’ve seen so many posts stating that there’s certain things lost in that extraction like the soul of the plant
Which I think is one of my favorite parts of the experience

I got helpful advice in a thread the other day to make the dose smaller and more manageable

I would do ISO tar , then boil it down to a shot glass amount and down

The simplest thing would be to look for a Peruvianus or Bridgesii. San Pedro and Pachanoi on ebay are often "PC Pach" in the states which is a very short spined, low active cultivar.

How do you know you are getting quality Bridgesii ? I can't tell one cactus from another

Bridgesii are supposed to be one of the most consitent in terms of potency. bout a foot of 3" thick would do you well.

More to the point. Check out whats on ebay and verify that it's the correct species before buying by sharing the picture with the EthnoBotanical Garden Forum. They're pretty helpful over there.

Aha! That is exactly the info I was looking for. Cheers!

I didn't know we had that forum.

I didn't realize that you can root a cutting, I had thought eBay sellers were just selling cuttings for tea

oh yea! cacti are pretty resilient plants. Even those mid section cuts will root and shoot out pups.

Have fun brother.

I would recommend looking at real San Pedros/Pervuian Torch's/Bridgeii's in The Ethnobotonical Garden Forum.

After that, search online for a cutting, grow a pup and plant.

Peyote is rare, endangered and is a slow grower. It would be a better choice to grow a San Pedro type cacti. :sanpedro:

Oh wow who knew dude! I'm gunna get myself some pet cactus!

So the cactus tea, you can reduce it down pretty low yea? Like to a few shots worth?
The purge is what's always turned me off about Mescaline , I figured there would be less puking with extracted mescaline.

It's endangered in the wild but European companies grow tons of it - check out some of our sponsor's peyote, you can but live buttons in those countries - I like that it takes years to grow - growing it from seed sounds really rewarding!

Sure you can simmer it down to a shotglass worth of liquid. It's snotty in it's consistency, though, not easy to drink.
You can dry it further down to tar and scrape it up and put into capsuls. No taste at all this way.

I never puked from mescaline so far. Rarely get nauseous either.
I tried eating raw (best!), tea & tar, iso -tar, pure extractions.. no purge.
Everyone's different, though.. but I don't know. Eating a raw plant is the best experience you can get

Interesting. I never knew.

Im not sure I could stomach eating it raw. Do you eat it chilled or warmed up?

Roomtemp..? I don't chill it nor heat it.

You can either chop the plant and eat the pieces raw, or you can blend the pieces with a cup or two of water and then drink the sludge.
Make sure to peel the waxy skin off the plant, before you eat or chop it.

This is what a foot worth of cactus looks like once blended with a cup of water.
