How many agar plates with one disposable loop?

I have plastic disposable inoculation loops. How many agar plates can I inoculate safely with each loop? In bod's video he flames it between 1-2 plates, but I wouldn't want to waste 10-20 loops for 20 plates.

unfortunately they are intended for a single use as far as "proper use" goes. That's why we use metal loops not plastic disposable loops.
You can do what you want but it will be risky to keep swiping at a print with the same loop over and over, there are nasties on the prints no matter what.

You can easily make your own loop though dont sweat it. I use ecig wire. fold it over and chuck it into a drill chuck and you can twist it really easily to make it strong enough to apply pressure.

That's exactly what you would do with disposable ones. I had a couple hundred of em lasted a few months.

Alright, thanks. I have couple hundred too, and going to use them first, but I guess I'm going to make my own of metal after them. The drill chuck technique sounds good.

Wire loops are really simple to make but they only cost a few bucks anyways. I bought one for 5$ and it came with a pack of nichrome wires. Twisting the loop is very simple
