No I didn’t say journalism should be neutral. Obviously reporters have interest that they find more important bit Glenn Greenwald is now an activist not a journalist

Imagine being a Venezuelan and hearing western know it alls dismissing these protests as some CIA coup just because The American government supports him. You’re just as bad as the ones supporting Guaido from their ivory towers. Why don’t you mind your own business and stop trying to make maduros opposition as illegitimate with your own meddling opinion.
I feel like this post is particularly hilarious, in light of koods arrogantly assuming that the Venezuelan political system is rigged.

thats fine if you think that, why do you think that? What about socialism doesn't work or is bad?
also i'm saying youre ignoring the motives behind that investment. Why would capitalism want everyone to think that socialism doesn't work, while at the same time undermining and sabotaging socialist policies?
And does this idea justify the coup and invasion of another country?

Theres been no coup and no invasion.
Socialism in the form that Venezuela has enacted doesn’t work. That should be obvious. And if any country could have made it work it would be Venezuela. Total failure. Time to move on from your pipe dreams.

It's just a bit hypocritical for you to be playing ref for internal Venezuelan politics, is all. The arrogance of you saying 'the illegitimate elected leader'. TO YOU. He's the elected leader of the country. That's like a foreigner saying "this Donald Trump guy is illegitimate". Fucking unbelievable.

So much of being a slush bucket country (USA), is other nations issues strongly effect every aspect of our own.
Plus They (Venezuela)have the most oil in the world in the ground. That's gotta make them a target from the entire world, sadly and badly and most rudely.
So they have liberal issues too and that's an advantage cause old ways get stuck.
Venezuela thinks their job is feeding Marxist Guerillas and pushing weapons and drugs through Colombia. That's a big problem!
They subverted old Mexico but that didn't take much at all. Mexico's been a dump for a long time. Like always.
Fighting cold wars is a good thing. Hot wars a lot of liberals die.

This whole thread is koods saying he thinks the evidence is wrong, and yet he has no counterevidence to back his own points up, as others have repeatedly noted.
No one here can challenge koods as the Political Forum's King of Make Believe. That title only grows stronger as his influence here grows weaker.

By the way koods, if you really care about the Venezuelan people (and you clearly don't), here is what they have to say:
86% of Venezuelans Oppose Military Intervention, 81% Against US Sanctions, Local Polling Shows
What's wrong with Venezuelan oil money going to the Venezuelan people rather than big oil companies?

How much of that was propaganda influenced? I'd say about all of it.
This is why there is extra border security now.

You're saying Venezuelans are against international meddling and sanctions because of propaganda?

The sanctions have already happened, and Trump is threatening military intervention, which is likely the only way Maduro will get ousted before the next election.
