Advice Needed

Seeking a bit of advice on shrooming....any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.

I haven't had shrooms for about 15 years and I only had them maybe 5 times ever (along with a few LSD's and a few 2CI's)....

In the last 5 years i met a girl, got married, had a daughter, bought a house etc.....I thought that was going to be my life.....but my wife stopped taking her antidepressants about 10 months ago and she had a complete personality transplant and as such we are separated.....she lives in our house with our daughter and i am crashing back at mamma's until we can get the house sold....

Its been a shitter to put it mildly, and recently i decided i want to do shrooms as i always found it therapeutic and good for putting things in perspective etc...

So i've got some.....i want to take them and listen to music, draw, maybe play guitar, write etc...usual chilled out shit....

problem is.....i don't know where i can do them....

I cant do them at my mothers house, so i was thinking options of a hotel or an Air BnB...i dunno how much i fancy a hotel as it would be a bit bland and i risk annoying other guests or potentially getting cabin fever and wanting to get out....lots of potential to make an idiot of myself...

I've looked at a few AirBnB's but not really found anything that really fits what i want....

OR

My wife is going away for a week soon and taking our 2 year old....the house is still half mine so I could go there....but I really cant decide if thats perfect or the worst idea possible...

Due to my wifes / ex wife / whatever, strange personality change she has been living in the house as it was when we were still together....there are still photos of us all around the house etc...wedding photo, family photos etc

there is potential for it to go either way as i see it...

Does anyone have any opinions on this?....it could be great for me to be there and accept the situation....or it could get really depressing...in a sober state i find being in that house quite uncomfortable now....but i'm not sure...

As its been so long i really cant decide what is best to do.....

Any thoughts anyone?

Why can't you trip at your moms?

There has been a lot of scientific articles that have been coming out in recent years, perhaps you could show some to your mother and maybe bring her around enough to let you trip in your room or someting.

:shrug:

Also, mushrooms only last 4-6 hours, so it's not impossible to take a day trip in a secluded park or something and be home at a decent hour for dinner.

Op, I recommend doing it at your mom's or a hotel. Your old house might be too much psychologicaly. Sorry to hear about the situation but I'm sure it's for the best. Even if it doesn't seem like it right now. You can vent here and get some ideas out on the table to start. That way you can get your feelings in perspective so they don't surprise you later.

Thanks for the sensible replies..

I can't see me doing it at my mothers house. Its not a particularly big place and i wouldn't feel completely comfortable and free to do what i want.

I don't think she would be particularly impressed to see me lying in the garden marvelling at the wonder of grass and flowers, while she's in the kitchen baking her highly regarded Crunchy Spaghetti...

A park is out of the question as I am in the UK and the weather isn't great right now. Ideally I want somewhere I can be outside or inside as I feel, and hotels don't really offer that without having to walk through busy reception areas....which from memory is not something I will fancy doing once I've had a few shrooms....

Mmmmm sounds delicious I can understand why it would be highly regarded 😂😂😂

Definitely don't do them at your old house it would be a truly horrible experience potentially. It just isn't worth the risk.

Is your mum always in the house?? As long as you're taking no more than 3g (assuming they are Cubensis mushrooms? Or do you have liberty caps?) then you should be fine. It isn't like you'll be making tonnes of noise and acting crazily. Just wait until she goes to bed and sit up doing your thing. Or if you're worried about making noise wait for her to go out for the day?

Aside from that yes the weather here in the UK is awful right now so a hotel would be your best bet. You won't get cabin fever. Mushrooms are quite a sedating psychedelic so all you'll be doing is laying down and chilling anyway! Just go with the hotel! That's the best option.

Thanks Craggles. I got Psilocybe Hollandia, Utopia and Atlantis.

They are classed as truffles but i guess they are the same as shrooms?

I have had moments where i think the old house might not be such a bad idea, but its always shortly followed by thinking its the worst idea ever...

I think a hotel is probably the best bet and just accept the conditions aren't going to be ideal. My initial plan was to get somewhere rural like a caravan by the sea and make it a bit of a retreat. But I think I was probably overreaching a bit with that idea......unfortunately.

AirBnB seemed like a good idea at a point, but i'm not sure if I might suddenly feel like i'm lying down, monged out in a strangers house. Which essentially I would be.

Problem with hotel is i was planning on having a bit of reefer with it at some point.

Oh if it's truffles which will have come in pre-weighed amounts then they're a mild ride compared to mushrooms. You'll be fine. Honestly go with the hotel.

Also don't mix with weed. Some people say it increases the strength of the trip. Others say it can get difficult after smoking weed. For me personally it turns it more dream-like and takes something beautiful away from the trip.

Have the weed another time.

The shrooms i had before were really long and my supplier told me they were Mexican. I thought they were brilliant. I basically want them, but you recon these truffles are going to be mild in comparison?....

I think i'll go with the hotel situation and take your advice on leaving the weed alone for it.

I've got to decide if I book the one night or two now. If i'm nice and mellowed out it would be a shame to have to check out at 11 or whatever.

Well I took a full bag of the 'strongest' variety available on a website back before I grew my own. The bag was supposed to be for two people. I ate the whole thing and had closed eye visuals that were very detailed.

At the end of the day you're getting the same psychoactive compounds. But even the full bag wasn't comparable to what I later got from eating 3-4g dry cubensis.

Just make sure you eat a good amount. If it advises half the bag...eat the full bag. You won't lose your shit they're just not powerful enough. If you eat too little you'll be totally let down and probably even more likely to have an uncomfortable experience.

I had Hollandia truffles. I assume you got 15g? Eat the full amount. I was a total noob when I got them and hadn't had psilocybin in about 14 years and I ate the full amount. It was totally manageable. I was underwhelmed actually. A bit let down. I did like the closed eye visuals though.

Atlantis aren't very strong from memory. Go for Hollandia.

The other packs will only last a month or so in the fridge I think? You're best drying them out until they're dry throughout and snap easily, in front of a fan and storing them in a sandwich bag in a cool cupboard. Just so they don't expire and go to waste.

Pretty sure it says Hollandia are the strongest. I wasn't sure which to go for as its been so long.

I'll probably go with the them.

I chewed them and swallowed them down and it was disgusting. Hahaha. But it's over and don't in minutes.

Definitely eat the full pack.

That's a totally shitty situation. Sorry to hear about it. But, you're in the UK and it sounds like you're looking for some perspective on your situation. Depending on where you are maybe get away from everything. Get a room at some historical inn or wander around a castle or sit by a window and watch some winter storm blow through. Your old house would be a mistake. Mom's would be a mistake for different reasons. Go someplace old. There's nothing like the feeling of antiquity to put the present into perspective.

It is a shit situation and something that I can totally accept one day and the next day it seems totally surreal. Like the woman I married has disappeared off the face of the earth almost overnight. And whats worse is she has been replaced with my worst enemy.

I always said that shrooms were the only drug i've taken that i can honestly say improved me as a human being. Other drugs might have done too, but shrooms gave me such insight I could never forget it. I feel like I need a bit of that right now.

There is a hotel not far from my mothers house that I could walk to (save the worry about driving under any influence). There is an 24hr Asda (Walmart to the US) next door so I can get plenty of supplies. And not far from there is an old canal and nature reserve. That seems like the most sensible option for me right now.

That sounds totally perfect man! It sounds like a horrible situation to have the person you love turn into your enemy. I feel for you man.

What you just said really does sound like your best option.

Yeah, leave the house and be somewhere else if you want to trip. Too many memories bound to the house that might influence the experience in a bad way. You might end up reliving the past and get very upset about your current situation.

If you want new insights and a refreshing trip to predict, or form, your future-self, then do it at a totally new location.
A hotel room might not be the best choice, though. I like to go out, explore nature. Maybe have a hike through the nature reserve you wrote about?
My most profound trips have all been in nature. Not at night, but in the afternoon.
