If you own a house, don’t you own land? Idk how townhouses work. At least in urban areas, the land is where real estate value is, not the homes. People around here buy houses, and then tear them down and build a bigger house. They are not only paying for the land alone, they are paying to build a new house. Generally land goes for about a million per acre tho.

I own the land as well. Technically, mortgage, which I should pay off in the next decade, but that's not really the bulk of my assets.

I am in a growing area of the city, though, so I expect my ~2 acres to go up in value quite a bit. Sadly, I had to buy more or less a McMansion, so I think that would have to be torn down to recoup most of the value. I don't think there's gonna be much demand for 5,000 sq ft homes in two decades, nobody will be able to afford them. My contract with the local HOA and city allows me to parcel out my land as I see fit, thankfully. I could see 2-3 houses on it.

I think the ability to subdivide property has been ended by the county because it was getting out of control. That was a real cash cow. I live within an Eruv, walking distance to two orthodox synagogues. You wouldn’t believe what that does to property values.

Not around here it hasn't. I'm planning on selling to developers after the next crash. As you said, it's a cash cow.

Personally, I invest in myself, and my ability to create value wherever I go. Need a lab director? Paying over 150k? I'll set it up and get it running smoothly, and then I'm off to the next guy who needs some shit organized.

My dad was in that business. He even built a shed for the tractor and home lab. Unfortunately he died before getting rid of the chems that nobody should have at home, like a half kilo of sodium azide and a cylinder of chlorine.

The azide is used for airbag inflation. It was the most difficult to get rid of because it requires a nasty reaction to destroy it, and it absolutely has to be destroyed. It is just as toxic as cyanide with the added property that it is extremely explosive. Chlorine can be bubbled into a solution of lye to neutralize it.

She was one of like, 3 democrats in the house that refused to support overturning the Louisiana Abortion Ban. The one that basically everyone, including the ABA, says is legal garbage.

She says she's pro-choice but she seems to have no interest in upholding that with actions.

Tulsi has a perfect score from Naral Pro Choice.

She simply didn't sign an amicus brief that went to the Supreme Court opposing the law (who knows why); I'm sure the Supreme Court didn't change their ruling because her signature was missing from the over 700 people who signed.

Yes, she didn't sign the amicus brief regarding what is likely going to be the most important abortion related case this decade, especially with the way that Louisiana worded their appeal.

"3rd trimester" is a largely medically meaningless time frame. A 24 week old fetus is "third trimester", and if born and cared for with the absolute height of modern medicine, has a less than 50% chance of surviving.

This is not a good place to start. Ignoring medical reality for politics is only going to lead down the anti-Roe rabbit hole again.
