Trump university was stupid. Having a casino go under requires a lot of stupid. His fucking hair is stupid. Serving cold cheeseburgers at the white house, stupid. "I have words... I have the best words", the adjectives in his vocabulary are as follows: "Best, good, great, spectacular, bad, terrible".

He's been riding on daddy's coat-tails for the entirety of his life.

Not everyone agrees that trying to make money means you are stupid.  More than 70% of all businesses fail.

The man lost more money than any other Us citizen in the 90s.

He decreased regulations, and increased tariffs on imported goods.  Pretty simple, really.

And yet, somehow, manufacturing is in decline.

Also, if you think Trump has any fucking idea what's going on in the middle east, I'm sure I can disabuse you of that notion. He doesn't know, doesn't care, and I'm sure his actions in Syria had nothing to do with Donald J Trump's great plan.

Ok, you'll have to disabuse me.  We've had countless discussions on how he's one of the few willing to challenge the military industrial complex on more war.  Him speaking out against war makes the establishment call him a Putin puppet, but that's getting ridiculous.

For some reason troop deployment to the Middle East is going up.

If Obama was a successful leader, only his base would acknowledge that reality. So at the end of the day, it's about maintaining your base.

I'm confused by this statement.

Do you mean "if Obama was a successful leader, *not* only his base would acknowledge that reality"?

Because it seems to me that more than just Obama's "base" consider him a successful leader.

No, it doesn't seem that way to me at all. The country is divided on how they interpret successful leadership from the Presidency.

Obama got a Nobel. Without discussing the merits of said Nobel, this means one thing: Obama had supporters literally worldwide.

donnie got laughed at, to his face, when he gave a speech at the UN. Kim Jong Un has stopped returning donnie's phone calls. Iran has pretty openly referred to, and treated, donnie as an impetuous child.

Hence, more than just Obama's "base" considers him a successful leader. Hell, he managed to do what he did with six years of an openly hostile congress.

Embracing his stupidity doesn’t make him smart. His supporters thinking his stupidity is some 4 dimensional chess doesn’t make him smart either.

Trump is in character almost all of the time. You do remember Trump from decades ago?  He's not the same person.

Dementia does that, yes.

Yeah, Obama had supporters that were called Globalists!!!!  I wonder why they supported him?  :flowstone:

He's definitely in favor of more military spending.  It's actual wars he's against.

I like how "sending more troops to foreign countries, in some cases against those foreign countries' will" doesn't count as "war" in your book.

Some of Trump's supporters are racist, some of Obama's supporters were also racist. The fact of the matter is, the globalists don't support Trump and won't nominate him for a Noble prize.

Because data shows that homogeneity is good. And we used to have a formula for it.

But things are different now.

We live in distrust and the "cure" is peaceful balkanization.

Yes.  According to this article "Trump’s policies, and just as importantly, the expectation of Trump’s policies, ignited a manufacturing resurgence."

Did you know stock prices are based on expectations?  Realistic expectations mean a lot.

Both things can be true. First decrease in a decade doesn't mean overall decrease.

I did. I made some money on the 2017 bull run. I bragged about it here, as a matter of fact.

Of course, the idiocy of those expectations is now starting to show. Best indicator would probably be the ongoing collapse of the trucking/logistics industries--means less shit is getting moved about, which means manufacturing is gonna shit the bed soon too.
