Should I do something about fuzzy mycelium?
    #25779928 - 01/30/19 09:12 PM (2 years, 1 month ago)

My concern is not whether or not it is mycelium, my concern is if I should do something different. Three days ago I transferred grain spawn to my bulk substrate everything is nice and white but extremely fuzzy with Rhizo growth reaching up and through the fuzz. There are 6 holes and 5 are taped with one stuffed with poly. I have use the search engine and most of what I am finding is determining whether or not someone has cobwebs, I am just curious what I should do? Should I increase AE by un taping one of the holes and filling with Polly? Or just leave ?

It's not cobweb mold. Cobweb looks like short cat hairs on ur substrate. What u have is mycelium. U don't need to tape the holes tho. But do as u like.

Pic would help a lot but yeah its probably not cobweb.  A little extra FAE never hurt nobody.

I’m just super new and already feel like the bulk us been exposed to open air more than I wanted. The mycelium is bright white, puffs of bright white everywhere that hasn’t grown alarmingly fast to the point where I’m suspicious. I have two holes on each on the bottom of the  long side of the tub and one hole each near the top of the short sides (it’s rectangular) so now the bottom holes are taped and top holes filled with poly

It should be in open air right now. Open it and take a pic.

These are the TEKs I use. They're all as cheap and easy as possible, just like your mom.

I take it you mean has instead of hasn't?
We need a pic before we can tell you anything definite.
But to venture a guess off what you said there sounds like Trich starting- unless it's just exposed grains recovering-
