Irish sea moss
    #25779066 -

Who uses this stuff?

I have been using it for a few weeks now and i prepared it by soaking and then simmering briefly before placing in the fridge.

But now it's gone and I've been lazy and I've just been grinding it in my coffee blender with my bladderwrack and flax seed to add to smoothies.

Is simply grinding dried sea moss in a blender before consumption an effective method ? Or do you REALLY need to go through the prep method of soaking and creating the sea moss goo?

If you don't know about Irish sea moss or bladderwrack or burdock root, and are a bit of a health nut like me, you may want to consider adding it to your diet

Never heard of Irish sea moss, which is odd, what with being in Ireland and all, but I've been reading up on apple cider vinegar and I've been talking a shot in the morning before breakfast. Good for weight loss and packed with anti oxidants. Also good for flushing toxins out of your liver.

Just noticed I've gone through like 1/3rd of a huge bottle of ACV just taking a few caps full each day.

Also noticed it doesn't have the same kick it did initially, definitely getting used to it

I never get use to it.

Every time, usually do something like this, but more intense

I believe it got it's name because they ate it in Ireland during the famine. Could be wrong.

Supposedly contains something like 92/102 vitamins and minerals the body consists of

Many micronutrients and supposedly many many healing and medicinal properties

For instance clearing out radiation, and specifically good for those going through chemotherapy and during the aftermarh ti help detoxify and replenish ans heal the body.

Things like that

Irish Sea Moss is a trendy scam food. Just eat food from the grocery store like everybody else and you'll be fine.

So i just looked this stuff up and basically the health benefits are only relevant if you were a super poor irish person during the 1800s. Like, basically, this stuff became popular during famines because it kept you from becoming anemic and getting goiter. in the context of modern food environment it's pointless. kale and black beans will give you a way bigger bang for your buck

"the highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you know nothing about"

If you claim to have done some research and you believe you should "just eat normal grocery store food" (by the way, what is that to you? Large quantities of meat and dairy and processed foods?)

Or that it's health benefits aren't relevant to anyone besides those suffering from famine, you should look again.

Or don't. I honestly don't care if you ignore your health. It's yours to ignore.

I myself worship the body which is my temple and give it everything it needs to prosper. Including foods that offer many beneficial properties, like Irish sea moss.

Aa mentioned, Irish sea moss contains a vast amoint of nutrients and minerals many people miss as well as many health benefits to the body including getting rid of mucus, digestive health, and essential nutrients which all aid in healthy body function, and more. This isnt Hocus pocus scam claims. This is a physiological effects based on the properties of the content in the food. Where do you think medicine comes from and what so you think was medicine before westernized indoctrination? The answer is nature. And food.

Find them for yourself. It's actually quite easy,I know since i researched it prior to ever buying any.

Gotta love the pubbers

i don't ignore my health. some people would accuse me of being orthorexic. I'm not trying to say that this irish moss stuff is bad for you. just that it's almost certainly not worth the money based on prices I'm seeing when I google it. there is a whole industry built around marketing of "superfoods" that are "rare/exotic" (black seed oil, goji berries, mangosteen, etc.) when the fact of the matter is that common, cheap, simple foods like a 52 cent can of black beans will do more for helping you maintain optimal health than virtually anything. a 1 dollar head of kale has enough vitamin A and C to last you for like 2-3 weeks

Yeah I wasnt exactly talking about your reply and i appreciate your response which contained a useful suggestion, but sea moss really isn't that expensive considering you take about a cup and it expands a great deal when you prepare the gel which can last a week or longer, and other foods do not have the same properties or benefits that would warrant ignoring the addition of sea moss on top of a healthy diet. Imo.

Just doesn't make sense to me not to include something with so many beneficial properties.

Yeah, just make some tacos or whatever and your body will operate just fine. Just like everybody else does. Do you think that you're going to eat moss and become a superhuman or some shit? You'll eat it and feel nothing, or maybe regret for wasting your money. If that were true that you got superpowers than everybody would be eating it and you could find it in every store.

What does moss give you that you can't get from regular food?

Ha, no. Sounds like one of the "Herbal-Life" things. I don't fall for those "Super" food scams. No need to research eating moss. If it was a "must have" food then it would be readily available at every grocery store and everybody would eat it.

Just eat a variety of normal food and you will get all that your body needs.

Seriously what benefit do you get from eating moss that you can't get from grocery store food?

Are you one of those guys that takes 20 different supplement/vitamin pills everyday?

I have a buddy that has been trying to get me into Irish sea moss. It's not a hard sell and I'm in. He is making capsules mixed with a few other things.

Good stuff, but I honestly need more science. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat it and I "believe" it, but I want more breakdowns of the full understanding of the organism, not all the trendy crap that fogs up internet searches..

It mainly just has to do with the specific nutrional profile as well as how the substance interacts with the body, for instance the effect of the gel like substance (assuming you make gel) with the digestive tract and once it enters our blood stream, as well as what effect certain nutrients have on our body and specific organs.

For instance iodine promotes healthy thyrood function and a healthy thyroid is essential for many body functions.

I have to log off though, the pub always gets to me

No, I'm the healthy guy that feels good from eating regular food and has extra time and money in his pocket from not falling for scams.

What benefits do you get from moss that you can't get from grocery store food?
