Popcorn jars smell weird

I have pan cyan and cubensis on popcorn in quart jars. They took a while to colonize, but smelled like normal mycelium through the filter when I did a shake. Today I did a g2g transfer and afterwards smelled the jars. They smell really weird, and both smell the exact same. Not familiar at all. Maybe a little bit like popcorn. They didn't stink or smell like bacteria. It was a weird chemical smell, kind of like plastic. Does that sound normal? The myc looks healthy. I took a couple pics, but the forum upload function doesn't work right now. Will post later hopefully.

Edit: a little more info. The jars seemed to be growing slowly before the shake. They recovered very fast after shaking and only took a few days to colonize fully after.
