Thanks for the link.   yeah, it's my Achilles heel, like I mentioned elsewhere

And data and phones aren't cheap in Canada

We have only a few companies that control it all.  They have a monopoly.

My work doesnt have wifi either so that doesnt help.

Because I do all my internet and computer stuff through my phone...I need a lot of data.

For the last 5 years I've had a 14gb data plan, shared between 2 phones, and for both phones and that data package...I pay $250 CAD a month.  And even then, I'd find myself constantly having to top up when I get a 90% usage warning.  I had $300 bills or more every month.  It was getting savage

So 5 months ago, I got into a new contract (2 year contracts are the standard)...but I knew my usage was getting out of hand so I exercised discipline and weaseled the best price I could get for a much lower data plan

I'm now on 2gb a month

I have had to top up a bit a couple months, but overall, I'm doing good.  And my bill has been cut over half so that's good too.

Baby steps.
