When I was a wee lad,10 years ago, I was curios about graphic design.

A wonderful book fell on my lap.

I think it has influenced me more than the whole 12 years of public education.

The gist of it is: if you have to write a manual about how the thing you designed works, your doing it wrong.

Only manual you ever have to read, for users/designers of whatever.

It's short.

I took a class in college on Human-Machine interactions and Ergonomics. One of the best classes Ive ever took. Combines engneering with human psychology. Super interesting.

The people who work on Linux distributions should read this book multiple times.

Stop telling people to read the docs. They will not, ever, ever.

That is if they want a wider adoption rate among regular folk.

Cause installing a Linux distro without having the help of internet communities equals giving up and installing windows (grow up Microsoft, the future is opensource).

It is a great os.

Now there's a graphics hardware language called "Vulkan" which is able to run old D3D11/10 code on linux machines. Gaming without large fps drops.

Steam Proton/Wine DXVK, check it out.

LE:I kinda' want to learn Vulkan now.
I have this feeling that knowing a good graphics hardware language will come in handy sometime in the next 10 years.
