Connecting a 200v FFU
    #25770446 - 01/26/19 04:19 PM (5 years, 3 months ago)

So I found a FFU on eBay, super cheap. But I'm not sure what I need to do to get it to work. Any advice, or even types of businesses I can ask for help would be great

Here are some photos of the diagrams.

It looks like it might run on DC power. Do you have a AC/DC converter?

It literally says that it runs on single phase AC. OP needs a transformer from his domestic supply (115V most likely if he's in the us) to 200V.

Definitelty didnt see those pics of the diagrams before

So how does a person increase the voltage of 115 AC?

Thanks, so I looked up transformers and this seems close to what I need, would it work?

Or any suggestions

No, that will put out 48V when connected correctly to your mains or 24V if you connect your 115V mains to the 230V primary winding of the transformer.

You need a transformer with a 115V winding and a 200v winding. It might be difficult to find, which could explain why the fan you have there is not being used and fell into your hands. Most fans run at a lower voltage. It is possibly cheaper to get a different fan than try to find the appropriate transformer for this one.

It's only 32VA. Your fan requires about twice that power, so the Hammond you found is not up to the job. The one you found is for a small tube amplifier.

Thanks bod

I also found this transformer
https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bel-Signal-Transformer/A41-80-230?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvwUzoUXIIvyZ8riR3Pta28R%252bTGwjjWJt%252b1Mxik9Jf3MQ%3d%3d

But both convert power to 220, and I'm not sure how big of an issue this is.
