Gummo...tripping? 1

Might trip tomorrow night with a friend. Friend wants to try Gummo tripping. I've never seen it and neither has he. Shit looks a little disturbing. Or even a lot disturbing, lol. I'm vaguely aware of some of the details -- lots of cat mutilations (and I like cats too ) and a father who pimps out his mentally challenged daughter, among other disturbing ass shit, I'm sure.
First off I wouldn't even know where to find it (it's not on Amazon) and even if I did, it doesn't appear to be a movie that I'd enjoy tripping to.
Anybody here ever trip to it?

Oh yeah, and Gaspar Noe (director of Enter the Void) is back at it.
"Climax".
A horror/musical (wtf?) where:
Quote:
French dancers gather in a remote, empty school building to rehearse on a wintry night. The all-night celebration morphs into a hallucinatory nightmare when they learn their sangria is laced with LSD.
the trailer is on the imdb page
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8359848/

Would not recommend. Gummo is a gross movie, its depressing and rapey, and morbid, there's like no upside to it.

Never seen or heard of it. Try some live concerts or Baraka. Or better yet drive out to the wilderness and have a fire!!!
What will you be consuming? I might eat one little mushroom later

I haven't seen it but it looks like a pretty terrible trip movie. There are quite a few threads on here related to trip films. Check them out if you're looking for other ideas.
But if you do end up watching it, let us know how it goes and godspeed.

I've seen a lengthy list of "trip" flicks (including Baraka which was mentioned up above), many of them glorious, and I saw Enter the Void on a heavy dose and as visually impressive as it was I thought it was pretty fucking disturbing -- the little bit that I've heard about Gummo and the clips I've seen, I have zero interest in watching that tripping.
I think I'm going to dose a hit and a half of some really, really stout blotter.

I watched Enter the Void on a heavy dose as well, with no idea of what it was beforehand. Just chose it for it's name... Was awesome, then dark, then horrifying. I had to stop it and walk away for parts at the end.
Watched the Gummo clip. Meh, I dunno man. Even trying to read subtitles when my vision is crawling doesn't sound like much fun.

Man, that sounds like an absolute horrible idea. At least for me. I'd end up wanting to eat a bottle of Xanax. No thanks.

OMG DO NOT DO THAT!!!! WORST IDEA EVER!
Seriously, don't. I don't know what it is about that movie. Just makes me feel icky all over. With all the other weird parts of it... my worst part was the bath and spaghetti. NO FOOD IN THE BATHROOM MY GAWD!

I watched eraserhead tripping. I used to like bloody horror movies tripping when I first did it a few times, then I found that it was pretty negative on a deeper level than just stoned on weed. Go for Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, you won't be disappointed. Any Pixar really. If you like a dark trip then yeah, you'll get it with that. It was pretty disturbing not tripping. Kids was too at the time I saw it many years ago. I also watched spiderwick chronicles and lion witch wardrobe without knowing a thing about either one, I was entranced and disturbed all at once, also pleasantly surprised.

I like musicals when tripping, especially if I watch something beautiful like Across the Universe.

I wouldn't say its disturbing, fucked up, yes, not a great film, yes. Theres no real story line, just a bunch of weird shit.
I watch predestination (which was recommend in another thread,) and it's the only film that's made me go ho lee fuck!! If you can follow the plot while tripping I'd say youd be

Turn the TV off and put the headphones on with any music the normally can give you goosebumps.
I tried watching Apocalypse Now during a mushroom trip once and swore to never turn on the TV again while tripping....it was awful!

I watched Disney/Pixars Inside Out after my peak and I swear it helped me to listen to my feelings better. Such an awesome movie.

Call me old fashioned but I just read the plot of Gummo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gummo#Plot and I found zero reasons to ever watch a movie like that, especially if I was tripping.
