Disposal of contamined cake in public garbage. Safe?

This is likely paranoia at work, but is it safe to dump a contaminated cake with fruits on it in a public trash receptacle? Say, triple wrapped in grocery bags, dumped anonymously. Garbagemen wouldn't find it while sifting for recycling, turn it over to authorities, lift fingerprints from the bags, find suspects, and pursue from there, right? That seems like fantastical thinking, but can't be too sure.

Would have done that with private property, just wasn't an option. Guess I'm just wondering what lengths LEOs go to when finding some fruits in a garbage bag in a public place. I'd imagine you'd only need to worry if it's your own bin, and/or you have a criminal record with prints on file, but I have no idea.

You’re paranoid. Garbage men don’t search through closed bags of garbage.

If you're going to throw them out just crumble everything up and make your trash disgusting. Even a homeless guy looking for cans or whatever isn't going to open a bag with spoiled milk or dog shit all over it. Also keep in mind only somebody who has knowledge of mush cultivation is going to know what they're looking at. Your average joe or even a cop isn't going to be able to readily identify that stuff in the trash.
