Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Does your soil drain well?  They don’t like sitting water.

Do you live someplace where it freezes really hard? What time of year do you plant? Make sure you work a lot of organic matter into the soil so they'll have moisture but no standing water. Sunny's right about them not liking wet feet.

i Know your not asking me, but i definitely live in a place where it freezes hard.  i tried garlic in a raised bed and it didn't do well but when i put in the ground it grows amazingly well, close to 100%.  My thoughts on this is that they maybe don't like the freeze/thaw/freeze thing.  In the beds, the garlic would do okay in the middle but not close to the edges.  In the ground here, usually when it freezes, it's solid for the rest of the winter.

what zone are you guys in?  I am zone 3b

it surprised me to how well they do here.  Saskatchewan is between 4b and 3b mostly in it's farm area and they grow a lot of garlic.
I have a hard time with some things though, have to work hard to grow tomatoes.  keep trying brussel sprouts every year and they come so close but never actually matured enough to call ok.

You're pretty warm down there i bet!  we had our coldest day so far this winter -40 when i woke up this morning.  inside work day lol

for some long term hemorrhoid relief, soak a few garlic cloves in 1.5-2 cups of water, and drink as tea.

can also be applied as a compress.

or for a severe case of hemorrhoids, one clove of peeled garlic may be applied directly into the anus.

garlic in the news!

Fascinating study finds that men who eat 4 cloves of garlic per day smell more attractive to women

https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-01-21-men-who-eat-4-cloves-of-garlic-per-day-smell-more-attractive.html

Quote:

While eating garlic can make your breath smell bad, it apparently can make you more appealing — if you’re a man, that is. A 2015 study published in Appetite Journal concluded that garlic may make men smell more attractive to women by altering their body odor.

...

“As the health benefits of garlic consumption include antioxidant, immune-stimulant, cardiovascular, bactericidal, and anti-carcinogenic (anti-cancer) effects, it is plausible that human odor preferences have been similarly shaped by sexual selection,” explained the researchers.

Yum!

Kind of. I keep a year's supply of fresh on hand but for things made with garlic, like pesto, I'll make cubes with everything except the cheese. Thaw them in sautéd veggies, add the cheese and then toss with pasta. Much better than making with dried basil or trying to keep a basil plant alive all winter.

Oh yeah, love pesto, I freeze it in cubes too.

I froze a small batch of minced so see how it goes.

:sonofawebitch:

You really are passionate about your garlic.... or mushrooms.

So how do you have blue butter?  I thought psylocibin is not soluble in fat.
