So,

I have 2 main options.

I'm ducting air from my fan into the top of my Martha to be on 24/7.

I can pipe my humidifier directly into the top of the chamber or into the duct before it enters the chamber.

I'm thinking that wet air in the duct could end up making a problem.

Any suggestions?

And so it is done!

Went with a separate inlet for fog above the evaporative fan.

Running it now for a day or 7 to see how the humidity sensor works and levels go, and how much water it consumes.

I think you should make a bucket fogger:

Just picked up an inkbird before my first gourmet fruit in a greenhouse set up.
Can say that I am completely satisfied knowing its going to be monitored and not just timed.

I'm using an inkbird. This is showing the of 89.9% yet the cigar hygrometer is reading 99%? And they are next to each other?!

Looking to buy a logging hygrometer, though it seems that each reads differently...

My GH is 2 x 4ft, and I'm running 1 disc. Will see what happens over the next few days...

You need to calibrate your inkbird sensor. Wrap it in a wet paper towel then close it up in a grocery bag for 1-2
hours. Whatever the final reading it's your "100%". So mine topped out at 91.5 so I set the CA parameter to +9.5%.

My analog and the Inkbird match perfectly.

Thanks for the tip.

I set the inkbird at 90 with 5% and it goes up to 90, cuts out, drops to 85, and cuts in, so in theory working. . .

I have a digital cigar hygrometer that reports min/max and have placed it top, middle and bottom, and it's reading 99% for both.

There is a light mist permanently in the room. . .

Will try her suggestion and see what happens... Still a few weeks away from needing, so fingers there is time.

EDIT:it appears that RH reporting is impacted by temperature also. I covered the sensor as suggested and the value stabilised around 93.8%, then gradually lowered as the day progressed and the temperature rose.

Hard to find multihead (or single head) foggers here, and as we are 240v harder to source power supply.

It seems that a single disc humidifier can't keep up during the day time, night time is fine. I have a second single disc (not outlet controllable) that I may leave on during the day, topped up by the controllered one.

Will keep an eye on Amazon for a 5 head, as that should suffice. Will also look at local suppliers of transformers.

That setup looks awesome.

Having gone through a similar build recently I came to the unfortunate conclusion that good humidity sensors that function well at RH >90% do not come cheap. I tried three different kinds and eventually dropped the cash on an expensive industrial one. All the others ones were either wildly inaccurate or crapped out after a short period of time. Maybe you will have more luck but that was my conclusion.

WOW, Mac daddy caddy Martha you built!

Looks like I need more mist for mine as it is outdoor and suffers from temperature fluctuations.

It seems that patience is very important for this hobby.

Dude, that is seriously impressive. I've gotten a lot of help from Blue Helix on my set up as well.

As for the humidity sensor...if you are using the probes with a Willhi or Inkbird controller you can cover the
sensor in RTV where the wires come into the sensor (being careful not get any on the important bits of course).

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22650843#22650843

My probe has lasted a good solid year in demanding situations and is still going strong.

If I'm doing electricity and computer automatic i want it to do a better job than passive automatic

If i did automatic I would just have misters for every tub and a wifi camera. Check it once a day and hit the mist button if needed. But if you're there every 3-4 days to fill the humidifier who cares just mist em yourself

Well now. . .
I'm growing oysters, and have found that the sgfc I was using had far to little fae.
So I decided to make something biggerer, with a constant fan.

My fan is probably too much for hand missing twice a day.

Wow really? I found that it started to go wonky after a while, reading way off, especially in the higher RHs. I suppose we all have to go through our own learning curve

The only real reason is for growing pans because they need more fresh air than you can get in a tub.

Also - and maybe this is splitting hairs - but refilling a tank every few days is a lot less work than misting a whole bunch of tubs.

I have a plan to build an auxiliary tank connected to the humidifier to extend the capacity of the tank. I'm thinking maybe one of those 5-gallon camping water jugs. That should extend the life to well over a week.

Have you thought to use a ball-cock and mains water?

I am looking to make similar to the Bucket Fogger in post 2, and have the parts coming from China . . .

Until then, it look like I will be trying my first monos with P.tampanensis in the interim, and trying pumice trays for additional humidity

Yeah I've thought about a ballcock system. And then I thought about how I'd probably screw it up and end up flooding the place...
