Fuzzy feet or contamination?
    #25747062 -

Hey people, after lurking around this forum for ages i finally got involved in this wonderful community

I have this grow-kit of Golden Teacher..yes, i know you guys dont like those boxes and i also know the different technics to do a proper fruiting chamber on my own but i lacked:

1. Time
2. Tools
3. Space

So the kit went great for like 3 weeks and i had many mushrooms but then i was at a party on New Year's Eve and they didnt get any FAE for 48hours, which led to fuzzy feet and stop of any growth...I harvested them and i did a round of cold shock, which worked as i now had many small mushrooms coming out but...looks fuzzy again and they are not growing at all anymore for like 5 days!

what do you think i could do here??

is it contamination? i dont think so as its not progressing in any way...

What do you mean about the FAE? It should be constant i.e a SGFC or some other container with holes to allow airflow, plus you need to mist

Those kits come with a square hole+filter on top of it to provide fresh air + you open it 2 minutes a day and mist them every other day.

I know about SGFC etc but know i have this kit which i am trying to get a second flush from!

from the photos, what do you think is the issue?

thanks

The instructions from the kit..Read some more teks on this site, start with the shoebox link in my sig

Mushrooms need a good supply of FAE, not 2 mins per day. A decent slab of substrate the size of a kit should be able to do this easily with enough air flow and moisture

Man, i know there are better ways but not that's what i've got and i would like to save this kit!!
I knew i would run in mostly post of people telling me "do a sgfc, do that tek, do that other tek kits are shit" as i have been reading this forum for quite a while...

And i know you are right guys, but really, now i have this kit and i would like to save it.

By the way before i abandoned it for 2 days  without FAE, it was doing great

Is there a way i can identify if the problem is not enough air or too much/not enough humidity??

And from the pictures i uploaded, can you confirm that there is no contamination??

Thanks for your help

As I mentioned..its too dry and not enough air..its not contaminated..

It may have put a few mushrooms out first flush, but that's not proving anything..These will grow a few in the absolute worst conditions..All you need to do is put a bag over it like in the shoebox tek..take your choice or leave it as is:thumbup:

Cool..don't go overboard on the water...Let it dry so it looks dry on top, then mist it, gently, let it dry then mist it..and repeat..once to twice daily is more than enough in most climates:thumbup:
