Please disregard the old pdf I can't seem to remove it. It is outdated somewhat.
Code:

The bags: 2 mil flat poly bags minimum, 3 mil+ are a little stouter but not necessary if you are careful with the mixing.
24x24 works OK but I'm using 30x30 bags because I have them. So you will notice there is some extra flap of the bag hanging over the 24" wide shelf in my pics.
Begin:
One block of coir (600 grams give or take) goes in a 30x30 2mil bag and that goes in a bucket.
Heat up some water to about 170 degrees and dispense it into gallon jugs about 7/8 full:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pour a jug into each bag:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pull the top of the bag up and make sure the coir is nicely submerged:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wad up and tuck the top of the bag in snugly and let the bag sit for a while to expand:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take the bag out and it should look like this:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Break up the big chunks of coir through the outside of the bag:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Add about 3 quarts of verm to the bag:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carefully gather up the top of the bag and fold it over a few times in your hand so it's closed snug:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then hold that wad of bag up and mix the contents:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After mixing you can grab a handful of sub through the bags exterior and squeeze to check field capacity. Add more verm if too wet:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Open the top and add your spawn. I use a 5 lb spawn bag of grain to inoculate the bag. Not pictured.
Wad and grip the bag top again and mix it up. Turn the bags contents inside so the spawn is evenly mixed.
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your about done now we just have to add the breathing apparatus.
Hold the top of the bag up and use a razor blade to cut a small + in the plastic. 2 on each side about like a mono tub position:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wad up a piece of polyfil aka pillow stuffing. I'm using an actual new pillow it's cheaper:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poke em in the holes:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do both sides. Should look about like this hot stuff:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you just gotta roll the top down nice and neat and carry it to your shelf and pin it up. I use binder clips and a heavy duty wire shelf:
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it, now just wait for fruits:

I have found one way to do this is to create a private journal thread and get the write-up all prepared, then make it publicly visible and quickly head over to a html to PDF converter website and create the PDF out of your link... That way you can get a clean copy with no responses to it. Then copy the entire journal post and paste it as a new thread in cultivation.
You can then clean up the PDF and get rid of the adds and whatever you see that you don't like and upload it to your post when your done.
I have done something similar to this for other people's teks and archived them on my PC.
You would be doing a classic write-up/tek doing it like that, but you'd get a nice PDF too. Just throwing that out there.

the downloadable pdf looks like I intended it for off-site viewing. You should be able to view it on a phone or tablet or anything with that format if you want with a much higher resolution for the smaller text.

i love this tek, nice work. So you do a thin top layer of substrate to cover up any exposed grains or just seal up the bag, mix it up, then kinda shape and flatten it a bit?

This is mind blowing! It reminds me of how they cultivate shiitakes in actual logs. When you are ready to fruit, do you unroll the plastic and tent it up like before, or do you cut slits as if it were a bag?

I carefully select the fungal strain and onto the agar, I make it rain. With a steady hand and gentle touch, I inoculate the plate without a hitch. Success is sweet when it's pure and true, and my agar plates are a testament too. A job well done, with no contamination, my fungi inoculation, a thing of admiration. Haha yea I unrolled the straw logs to fruit. It worked really good actually.
Was something to keep me busy when I had a hard time getting coir but of course straw requires a lot of prep work such as wood chippering and soaking and pasteurizing.

Such a cool idea! Seems so simple, too. Saved for future reference.
Could this also work for gourmets? If so, which? Thanks π
