Outdoor Cubensis, hot dry conditions

So I started growing cubes indoors, GT's, and have had fair success.





At the end of spring I put down a layer of cow shit to have somewhere to throw any shoe boxes that contaminated.
It's also had spent substrate as well as leftover coco-coir and horse shit added along the way.
I went away and came home to 5 contaminated shoe boxes.

They were added to the outdoor area.

   



It's been hot and dry and windy so I have been wetting the patch and wetting the dog bed as well as
adding another piece of hessian(burlap) on top and to cover the sides.

This is the results

 



Compared to the indoor fruits, the outdoor ones have been bigger, chunkier, but with shorter, fatter stems
One mushroom in particular stood out, bigger than the others and starting to turn blue from the cap cracking.

Others started doing similar, but not like the big one.

So I'm thinking to myself, I know that big mushroom looks gnarley, but it's just the cap drying out...
and I've had just over 3 dry grams before and handled things ok...
At only 38.5 grams fresh how strong can this thing be??...

If I had said, 'strong enough to have me on my knees in the shower" I would have been correct.
That mushroom gave me a level 5 trip I was not ready or prepared for... but, I made it through, alone too.

Some things we have to learn the hard way.

 



I knew it was special, so I took clones before chopping it up.
Even though it slapped me around the head for 3 hours it's the only thing I want to grow now





The weather eased off and some normal looking cubes have popped up but they just don't have the impact of the one that kicked my arse
