You should learn everything you can. LC's work great. You can make a print into an almost endless supply. You just have to be real good with your sterile techniques

My newb grows back in 2012 were done with a mix of m/s and LC inoculation.  LC inoculation grows quickly if contam free.

I'm just getting back into growing, so far I've gone from multispore to agar, and from agar to LC.  Last night after about a week of growth in the LC I have a nice looking cloud of mycelium.  So I took a syringe full, put a drop or two on agar through a injection port lid, and then hit 5 PF cakes with the remainder. 

In the past I've had cakes colonised in under 2 weeks from LC vs a month from m/s.
Risk vs reward is worth it for me.  Especially now that I'm working with Agar and can see what I'm growing, before committing a lot of work to a possible contamed LC.
