Through slavery, Jim crow, and now racial terms like "white privilege" or by dangling a carrot (or EBT card) in front of them for decades -- only to get them nowhere.

Welfare needs reformed and the family needs to be emphasized.

An interesting perspective on liberals from Malcom X.

The most devastating problems that black people face today have absolutely nothing to do with our history of slavery and discrimination. Chief among them is the breakdown of the black family, wherein 75 percent of blacks are born to single, often young, mothers.

Welfare has encouraged young women to have children out of wedlock. The social stigma once associated with unwed pregnancy is all but gone. Plus, "shotgun" weddings are a thing of the past. That was when male members of a girl's family made the boy who got her pregnant live up to his responsibilities.

I do not think welfare is the real issue.  Welfare is a safety net and yes population has become dependent.

Truth is that minorities are incarcerated at higher rates.  that means more people without support after release.  More children of prisoners that need supported by the state.

It's become cultural.  To the point that culture has elevated the status of the criminal to 'glamor status'.  This goes back to prohibition days and bank robbing days, in the early 1900s.

It's a way of sticking it to the 'man' that fucked you over.  Malcom X was a hateful person that was a muslim.  Not all minorities are going to be muslim.  So the solution is not likely religion.  It has to have the same risk and glamor protrayed by stars that promote criminal lifestyles.

There will always be population that isn't as equiped to have a lifestyle that is 'attractive' .  So crime is attractive and always has been, for the less fortunate.

The real issue is a system that locks people up, with little true judgement of circumstances.  Then relies on small trivial payoffs for survival to not look totally cruel, which they are.

You admit the population has become dependent, but you don't see that as a problem?

I believe welfare incentives would be a large factor that creates little incentive for families to stay together. The mother can marry the government or get child support. The man can lay low.

Anyways, how do you propose bringing families together?

You ignore the father is in and out of prison/jail for trivial shit culture exposed them too and they idolized.  Why?  Because crime is a lifestyle that works.

Either more understanding on what it's like to be a criminal or 100% death for all crimes.

Culture rarely changes quickly.  There are no efforts other than lies from propaganda to influence culture.

It's culture out of bounds.  It is sub culture.  It has it's own rules, ways and everything.

Obviously, crime hasn't worked for the black community.

Culture did change drastically from the time when Jim crow was taking place. For instance, the prison rates were lower under Jim crow than under Obama.

Culture all around was more sterile back then.  It was ignorant of many things.  The ignorance bound people together.

It was the US against ' them ' and 'they' were easily identified and made vilians.  Then they did that to us.  Mostly speaking of commies or nazis or whatever was easily made into it's own industry of effort to unify having shared consciousness.

It's not just minorities on welfare.  It's all underdogs.  A system that segragtes people not for race but permantly based on choices.  More likely reactions if you believe psycology as as much genetics.

First of all (as has been explained to you countless times) Democrats were conservatives until the early 1900's.

Second, "white privilege" is just a term describing the fact that whites on average get treated better than blacks.  We've proven this to you countless times (here's one famous example):



If we stop calling this special treatment "white privilege", how does that change anything?

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

You do realize this quote applies to you and your actions in creating this very thread? Your crusade to save the black community from the poison of liberal democrats is obviously born from your desire to weaken your political opponents. You don't really care about the black community.

There's a reason the last line ends with "white man", not "white liberal". So please, to the white man quoting Malcolm X without any real understanding of what he represents, take a seat. You're only embarrassing yourself.

I never conceded to any of your points. In fact, I could say I have proven things to you a thousand times, but I am smart enough to know when a person actually concedes.

If anything, I see white liberals berating people like Kanye West and Jess Lee Peterson -- when at the same time they are supposed to be tolerant of minorities. Liberals are your "best friend" until you start thinking for yourself.

Yes, white privilege is a racially charged term used to generalize people by skin color. Thank you for pointing out the blatant racism from the Democrats. This is the sneaky liberal Democrat trying to look virtuous, but failing.

Democrats, the party who defended slavery, brought Jim crow, and now defines privilege by skin color.

Why does everyone have to be categorized, arent we all people no matter where we come from why do we have to let religious beliefs and government officials who dont give a shit about anyone other than themselves draw imaginary lines so they can divide us . Looks to me as if were all some sort of idiots myself included because we let them divide us instead of standing united. As far as prison population goes hate to break it to u but theres more whites incarcerated than blacks . The US has the largest prison population in the world its not about black or white but how much money some capitalistic asshole can make off keeping people locked up

You aren't being intellectually honest, and that comment is proof.

When my wife and I had our child we qualified for government assistance then too. That was 3 years ago. Lot's of things have changed since then for my family and I, but you're a real prick if you think receiving government assistance is a dignifying or enjoyable experience. Never mind a lavish or relaxed quality of life.

I won't be following this thread because it's obviously a classic XUL bullshit thread that needs to go away.

^^^So you’re saying it wasn’t a great standard of living and was maybe embarrassing so I’m guessing that you stepped up and did something to make things better for you and your family? If so, that’s the whole idea of government assistance, help someone while they are down and allow them to get back on their feet. It’s not supposed to support you indefinitely while you don’t give a shit about your yourself or even try.
