I know the last Canadian team to win was Montreal with Patrick Roy and Guy Charbonneau and I think Dennis Savard. It was a long time ago.

Surprised the Blues tied it up the series and at the score. There is hope for those that really hate everything New England and the Red Sox and the Celtic. Yeah, all of it.
Have my reasons. But I could make a whole thread on it. God it had been a good day.

Fuck the Blues and their cheap shotting trap defense. In the old days the retaliation would be swift and effective.
Definitely not an exciting team on any level.

I haven't watched much because the Hawks have sucked for 2 years. The Blues have been a defensive team since they got in the league. The neutral zone trap made hockey more boring, but it was a natural reaction to Gretzky's Oilers winning games 9-7.
I am definitely a Boston sports fan. I only really liked the Bruins in the Bobby Orr era, but I still think their uniforms are cool. I got behind the Red Sox when they went to the series in 67 with Carl Yastremski. In certain eras I'm rabid for their other 2 teams. I have been a huge Patriots fan since Brady replaced Bledsoe, and Belichik can outcoach anyone. Before that I thought they were a joke. The 1980's Celtics were my favorite basketball team ever. I cared about them winning more than the Bulls with Jordan. But there was more drama with the Celtics because the Lakers were great too. The Bulls really didn't have competition.

Zero's after the end of one. St. Louis has to start scoring. They don't have the ability to win a low scoring game, my best guess.

Wow, that trip and no-call and Blues goalie guy playing like a HOF type player, bit surprised. As are the Bruin fans. Reminds me of the G.S. fans where they felt dumbstruck after game three, like, we always win these things.
One more St. Louis.

Yeah, kind of changed any chance of the Bruins winning. I don't follow the sport much but seeing that live, I was like what the fuck? And then a goal shortly after. And their is a ref staring right at it. I want St. Louie but not in ways like that.
The teen giving the finger to the blues as they left and the announcers discomfort was amusing though.

The Blues wouldn't be in the Cup if it wasn't for that kind of shit.
It's pretty funny seeing Bruins fans fight each other in the stands though.

Fighting in the stands is what it's all about. They don't sell beer after the 2nd period, so we each had 5 under our chairs. That 2nd intermission is the long one.

Yeah, NFL changed that and the MLB as well years ago. So guessing the 2nd intermission is like the halftime. Even the first one takes a hell of a long time but whatever.
God 5, what did you spend 100 for the night on beer? Looking forward to tomorrows game, last day before my vacation on Monday and glad it is a late flight because I am going to be loaded watching this game within reason. Joints and Rockies games and other fun times seeing my old haunting grounds.
Hope St. Louis gets it, it is basically a pick'um game. Will go to a bar and watch game 7 and see it if it comes to it. Just can't go with them.
But money is not going to be risked and spent on other things, just not five beers under my seat at the bottom of the 6th, lol. I take breaks and hit bars right next to Coors for an inning and head back. They have right next to the stadium. Going to be a fun week to the opening of Summer. Go St Louie.

May they poor alcohol into the real Cup tomorrow.

My brother and his buddies had the season tickets. I got to go whenever I was home from school. The beer vendor said they put his kids through college. They were all union guys.

Yeah Unions. Times change for the worst. Knew a Union guy from Hartford and talking about his manufacturing job who was a massive UCONN fan, have no idea when they moved the Whalers. Then close them down and right to work states which is shit. Starting to feel shitty so on to something else and yeah he got divorced and turned into an alcoholic.
Time for some fun. On another note like how they don't plaster ads all over hockey uniforms. Really hope the Blues win tomorrow night and see how the city of St. Louis responds to it. If it would be partying or riots like when Detroit would win.
Made me laugh reading about the city and, basically saying we are a major sports town and it hurt us to have the Rams leave. We have two major teams and are doing our best to get a MLS team here, lol. Guess that would rank at #5 as local teams.
Good luck on that. Should one be happy about such? Remember getting mocked visiting Seattle and watching a m's game and you could see over into century link where the seattle sound were playing. Confused me at first like why are so many people wearing X-box shirts heading into the baseball game. Then oh, it is their uniforms, the x-boxes. And the millennials were like, you are going to a baseball game, you are so laim. Blah.
Cards are impressive though and may the Blues win their first ever championship at home. Really doubt it will happen but will be amazing if it does and I hope they do. Never been to St. Louis though I could in a heartbeat. Couldn't afford a ticket to tomorrows game though but it will be fun watching it.
Glad you advised that watching a game can be better then seeing one in person. My friend from Denver said it is fun to see one in person and not on t.v. so I always stuck with that. Then seeing this last one and the physical roughness and competitiveness at that level that was enjoyable. On to the game tomorrow night.

Blah. Could tell it was over from the start. No fans really into it and no enthusiasm like the last game coming out. So much more energy last game, this everyone was just going through the motions.
Game 7. Boston wins everything, educated guess they will this. Fuck it. Wondering if Bill will show up to this one.

I just came in to say are people watching this I mean what the fuck. This whole goddamn cup is bullshit it just goes to show the state of the league. the game last night was terrible. yet another fucking charade of in ice shinanagins with the refs letting the game get total out of hand with the horseshit. not calling things then randomly deciding to cherry pick calling things miscalling things I mean what fuck. No wonder Boston gooned there way to the cup. Then St Louis comes out with deflated asses it's like hellllllo ur playing in a game to win the fucking stanley cup forecheck backcheck I mean do something. it's like they didnt even want it. Idk wtf.

I saw that with the penguins last time they won the cup.
Sometimes they looked like a peewee hockey team and I wondered, wtf.
I also wonder if they do that in order to conserve energy or throw off the other team? I don't know what's going on in hockey now, but I always thought the pens may have slowed up on purpose.
I don't know.
What game are they on?

It is a long NHL tradition to let more hard hits go uncalled in the playoffs than the regular season. But like you say, depending on what team you like, the penalties that do get called look like cherry picking.

I get that on playoffs you let them play. Big hits general roughhousing and all this sure. horseshit nonsense no. it undermines the actual sport when theres so much dirty play flying around. I mean there used to be alot more respect in the game. I really feel like they let this shit happen for ratings and drama. I mean how many times have we seen the oh yah major no call ur team goes on to win dewd is injured but then u know after the fact it comes out dewd is suspended. It's a major effect on the game.

Get what your saying to a point. Not a big NHL follower but I know competition. The game before Blues were pounding players and really wanted it. This was like a different team, bored the shit out of me.
Holding judgement till Wednesday. Will be lost in the mountains somewhere in Colorado in Golden, but seriously though, I better not regret watching this if their is no competition. If it is even one-nothing after when the first intermission starts. I am up to the mountains. Go Blues Lol. Please surprise me St. Louis and play like you did game 5 in Boston. And people beat up Bill.
Vacation time but there is a great bar right by the Coors Brewery and I will be there Wednesday. Just don't want to go into it thinking like all the Blues fans and players, we are going to lose vibe. Bruins were professionals and took care of the game just barely, just joking.
Still have to see it. Long time till MLB playoffs.

Congratulations to the Blues, I guess.
I didn't realize St Louis had an NBA title with the Hawks, so now they are one of only 7 cities (metropolitan areas actually) that have won the championship in all 4 major sports. St Louis only has 3 titles besides the Cardinals, but the Cards won a bunch.
