I rarely time it for fresh dosing, can you cook with dried cubes? 30 dry grams is quite a bit for a couple slices of pizza lol

Rehydrate to cook with. Not as good as fresh but works fine.

I thought about that myco, you've done it? Any specific dishes? Considered making a strong tea and using it for soup stock

I confess I want to trip on nice amount but don't have anyone to really trip with, and don't really have a very good setting either.
I'm also worried about having a Mushroom Therapy type experience and wake up nekkid in the hospital :/
Related confession. After my first grow I decided to bioassay some fruits of my labor. Everything was going great, starting to feel that familiar feeling about 20 minutes in. All of a sudden I hear about a 10 second burnout and some screaming. As I'm thinking WTF, I glance out my window and see the PWT (Pure White Trash) neighbors across the street. (they are the exception not the rule in my neighborhood tbh. I'm just lucky enough the slum lord that owns the house across the street likes to rent to PWT exclusively for whatever reason) Great but whatever none of my business and I don't think much about it.
Starting to get some light OEV and some color shifts now. Getting excited as it's been quite awhile since I've tripped and I could really use the journey/reset.
All of a sudden there is a pounding on my front door in that distinctive cop style knock. I'm not expecting anyone and I'm about to lose my shit at whoever is knocking on my door like the fucking cops.
Guess what, it's a fucking cop.
Turn on my porch light. Luckily it's not very bright, and ask can I help you?
Turns out the PWT boyfriend and girlfriend got into a fight, and PWT BF "stole" PWT GF's car. (the 10 sec burnout)
So here I am, nearing the peak, and I have to talk to this fucking cop due to shit bag neighbor drama. Luckily the cop was a rookie. He barely looked old enough to drink ffs and he looked more nervous than I felt.
Told him I didn't know anything, heard a burnout and yelling/fighting about an hour ago. Yes sir, the car went that way I think. No sir I don't know anything else. No sir I don't care to write out a statement. Yes sir, you have a nice night too. Then I took his card.
I look towards the neighbors across the street and realize there are now at least 8 to 10 police vehicles parked all up and down the damn street.
I was pissed to say the least. Tripping with cops 20 yards away as you are about to peak, with 2 shoeboxes finishing up their 1st flush is no bueno.
Besides freaking out it didn't completely ruin the trip luckily. My street is actually very quiet. Nothing like this happened before or since. Guess I was just lucky that the PWT neighbors decided to pull this shit on the same night I decided to trip.
Those mf'ers stayed outside for hours. No idea wtf they could possibly be doing but if I had to guess there were no less than 3 police vehicles in front of my house until about 1 1:30. The "stolen" car happened around 18:00.
Thanks to that experience it's kinda ruined the setting at my house:(
That story turned out way longer than expected! Hope it was a good read at least.
Cheers

Maybe if you rehydrate them first and then use that water as part of the base of the dish. Dehydrated cubes are, well, dehydrated and you'd have to take that into consideration with what you are cooking.
I did make that mistake once and tried to use dried shrooms in a stir fry. Wasn't the greatest. Fresh would be best.
Doh mycolorado mentioned rehydration while I was rambling.
I'd say add just enough water to make the dried shrooms chewable again, then add the other ingredients without draining. Sounds obvious but thought I'd mention you don't want to dump the tea you made trying to rehydrate lol

Lol, cops and tripping don't go to well together. I've had a handfull of experiences dealing with cops tripping when I was younger. Don't think I could handle it now! Most of that shit happened 20+ years ago, I'd fall right apart nowadays for sure!!

Iβve only done it with choice edibles like porcini. Iβd think sauces would be best for rehydrated fruit as theyβre just not the same texture-wise as fresh.

Luckily this wasn't my first time tripping. Melting police badges can be rather off putting lol
Agree with mycolorado. I bet dehydrated shrooms in a pasta sauce, chili, or stew that has been in a crock pot all day would be phenomenal.
Caps a slow-cooker chilli or stew sounds perfect for you if you like chili or stew. You basically add all your ingredients in the morning, let it simmer all day and it's ready to eat that evening. Only have to stir a little here and there.
I've started a stew in the morning, went about my day and left it for 4 or 5 hours and it turned out perfect. Was only stirred maybe 3 or 4 times total. Easy peasy.

I bet if left to simmer into the sauce, either fresh or dried could be used in that situation.
I wonder how many dried grams could be squeezed into the sauce of one pizza?

I confess..
I actually like the taste of fresh cubes. The last 2 years I was growing thats the only way I ate em.
Seems like when I eat em dried my tongue cant stop trying to get the little mushie pieces outta my teeth.
Dont think I've ingested them any other ways besides fresh and dry.

I take readings on the floor and ceiling, vents, window sills, inside tubs, outside of tubs, myself, the wife.. beep beep beep.. lol anywhere that little red laser light will go.. Mine beeps for every reading and I get to beeping! lol
But the variances you find from room to room or on countertops or lights or the fridge.. very interesting! Or at least fun to do at night right after you burn one and you are checking your stuffs. I've found/realized the air currents in my place by using mine.
Next thing you know you will be taking low temp dabs and looking up the temps that the different terpines burn at. Then we can argue about wether or not gorilla glue tastes better at 350 or 500..
Heh! Get your thermo game on!

Just realized Caps is more than likely cooking for 1.
Using the shrooms in the pizza sauce is a cool idea. I was also just thinking you could rehydrate, then use the "tea" as part of the water you use to make the dough and use the rehrdrated mushrooms on the pizza itself.
The stew idea doesn't sound all that great now that I think about it unless you somehow did a single serving. Unless you made up enough for 4 or 5 people that all wanted to trip. That'd be a cool way to have a group experience. Everyone sitting around bullshitting while eating an awesome stew that morphed into a group trip would be killer. Not sure how dosing would be done/work out though.
So when's dinner Caps??

Yeah, the temp gun makes me feel like I'm on star trek. Lol
I need one of those fancy ones, mine's a cheap harbor freight jobby.
I also want a good microscope I can do pictures with. I have a killer canon dslr, wonder if there's a microscope I can attach it to?
