 ASAP! Early Detection of ... Green Mold? Pics....

This is my first time growing. Period. Two 1/2 pint BRF/Verm jars cased with bottom layer of verm and jiffy mix on top. The spot in question is *tiny*. I mean, tiny tiny tiny tiny. Millimeters.
It looks like green mold to me. What do you guys think?
If so, I have gathered that my best option would be to remove the area and patch over with dry verm. As an over-eager newbie, I think that I've been misting too much when I shouldn't be misting at all. Until these pins get a foothold, Misting is going to drop to almost nothing. I think I'll start fanning ever other day, too.
Thoughts?

Wow, it must be small. With the resolution as it is, it is very hard to tell. Green mold starts as a dense white growth of mycelium, much more dense than the wanted mycelium usually.
I did see one spot that may be in question. It is located in the middle about 1/5 from the top of the picture. It also looks like a pin...I can't tell.
If it is a spot, I would carefully and steriley remove the area and then treat the surrounding area with a 1.5% solution of H2O2 to prevent any further contaminant spore germination. I believe there is also a thread at the top of the forum describing the use of salt to stop trich.
I would not case over the spot as it is important to be able to see any further contaminant development. If you case over it, you may just be hiding it until it breaks through as even a larger problem.
It does look as if the mycelium is matted from to much spraying. You want to introduce moisture by having a humid environment. Water and porous volcanic rock such as perlite, or geolite works wonders for humidification. Search the FAQ for methods of use.

Thank you for your input! Incidentally, I decided to throw some perlite in the bottom of the bin (with some h2o2 for good measure) just a few hours before I posted this. BTW, you can click the picture for a bigger version. That's a 100% crop 2592x1944 pixel image. Big big big.
Just a second ago, I flipped over my trusty 50mm camera lens to use as a makeshift loupe. Upon closer examination, I found that all of the mycellium colonizing the top casing layer had a very slight but distinct blue/green tint. I assume that this is simply bruising due to my over-misting.
Also noteworthy is that since I was using a strobe flash, a slight blue/green color cast is expected, and although the mycellia look very white to the naked eye, i would imagine that they are very good at absorbing the blue spectrum of light since they are photosensitive. As consequence, an excess of green would be noticed in a flash-photo of mycellia. Huh.

The enlarged image as stored on this site is only 389x431 pixels.
I haven't found that mycelium reflects any strange colors. I have found that vermiculite does though. I often see greens, blues, and reds, reflected from the crystalline structure of the vermiculite.
I used to use perlite often and still do time to time. I found it was a bitch to clean though. It works in a pinch though.

top center? Yeah, that looks like a little green mold to me. The problem is when its inside the cake, then you can do much, except maybe cut the cake in half, and use the un infected part.
How did you sterilize the jars?
