I have 10 shoeboxes right now pretty much all doing this
Not sure where I went wrong
I didn't use a top layer for the first time so my surface conditions could have been off
Might have messed up mixing some of them
At first I thought this was a flipped sub gone awesome. Nice clustering.I'll bet the yield will be nice. They don't all have to be canopies. Your surface looks good,so like Mushboy said, give them a bottom water, and maybe dub tub them now,for extra room & FAE.

See any issues with this guy?

Close up:

The dots seem too small to be pins forming. And the one pin I see looks like an abort.

The dots are hyphal knots. They’ll be pins before you know it;-)
Looks good to me!

Have 3 SB’s fruiting nicely and another two that should start pinning in the next day.
Lost a Brazilian tub to trich and APE’s to green mold...
Never seen this on my pin caps before. A couple of them appear to either have two tone caps or is it something else?

No coir... maybe a bottom water and light misting... got a picture?

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. Not getting much growth on the surface. Most of it is on the side.

Thanks. I'll hold off on the misting and see if things improve.

Good to know. I have 3 other shoeboxes going, so would it be a good idea to just leave the lids on until the shrooms push up against it?

I leave the lid snapped until pinset development, then unsnap until they reach the lid and need dubtubbed

I mean, it looks really good actually. I think I’m getting closer to having it dialed in. I snapped the handles back on to slow it down. Well that slowed it down TOO much, so installed this cpu fan, blowing up, not down. Things seem to have calmed down some. I’ll know by tonight how it’s really going. I thought about sifting some sterile verm on there, like paper thin, and then misting it to cap.
Thanks for looking after me. I appreciate your help. Let me know what you think. Also, I don’t run both lights. I just turned the second one on to take pics.

So the surface myc on one of my clone SB’s is starting to blue. The same SB appears to be producing fruits with double caps or something. It’s been pinning for a few days now but just noticed the bluing last night. What do you guys think?

It's cracking dry, and looks to need more FAE

The crack was from me picking up the box with one hand. I’ve been bottom watering and actually left the top off for a few hours yesterday so I think it’s been getting enough FAE. Could it be too much FAE? Had 3 SB’s start fruiting at the same time and this is the only one bluing.

They fruit in open air in nature: no such thing as "too much FAE"... just have to monitor rh(surface conditions really) much closer... I've seen some cultures that seem to get fuzzy caps regardless... idk mane
