Jimi hendrix is simply amazing. I rented the DVD: Jimi hendrix, and its simply amazing. That man could play the guitar like no other. If you watch him while he plays his whole body is involved, his eyes are even closed, the guitar is a perfect extension of his body.
Theres one point when hes playing machine gun, hes playing right from his soul, its amazing, hes simply in the zone.
You guys should check this out.
I hope someday i will be at his level, but for now, ill just practice my scales..

i have live at woodstock and band of gypsys on dvd, they are simply awesome. Hendrix is by far my favorite musician to watch live, he's just in another world when he plays:).

The DVD is a "rockumentary",they had it at my local blockbuster.

Jimi Hendrix says "You got your god and so do I" I say "Jimi Hendrix is my God"
also the new years show they did was filmore east. it's fucking awesome but i don't think i could watch it anymore. I watched it when i was tripping and he looks so sad and it made me feel bad because he loved playing guitar and in a way he was exploited for it. Also, the reason why they played to concerts back to back was because he was planning on leaving his current label but had to give them one more record according to contract, so that's what they did. two shows back to back.
needless to say I listen to machine gun atleast once a day who knows is amazing too.
has anyone heard Pali Gap off of South Saturn Delta? It's slowly taking over my #1 spot. If you haven't heard it then download it or something.

he is my all-time number one. you know he took a right handed guitar and just turned it upside down to play left handed? his highnote strings were on the bottom! and fingers like a spider - nobody reaches chords like hendrix, except perhaps rachmaninov
he ROCKS no question. i don't think i could name a top song - a top three perhaps. anyone fancy a fave hendrix song poll? there'd have to be at least ten in there.

no sir. you are thinking about albert king. hendrix strung his like a left handed guitar, but he used a right handed model.

Yeah its a common misconception to believe that jimmy played a right handed guitar left handed without switching the strings. I used to think that untill i saw a video of him live.
The isle of wight version of Machine Gun is BEAUTIFUL.
It is the last concert recorded on film.
peace
