Do you have them sitting directly on the bottom of your pc(no rack)?
Or are you trying to manually release the pressure from the pc so you dont have to wait?

For all my karo techs I use old dorito salsa jars. 2 holes, 1 with polyfill, the other filled with silicone gel. One works to equalize pressure, the other is a self healing syringe entry port. Never had a jar pop or contam on me.
If you're not using a rack in your PC, start thinking of something to separate your jars from the bottom of the PC, even 1 cm makes all the difference.

I use a washcloth in the bottom of my pot, when i boil my BRF jars. works for me. not sure if it'll work for a PC though. Don't see why not though.

If I'm not mistaken doesnt sugars have to reach a higher temp to boil?
Everytime I boil or use a pc to make honey water - I end up with some brown spots floating in it! Caramelized honey?
So I went to the micro-tek.Plastic container heat on high for 5 minutes, rest 5 minutes,repeat-no problems since!
My two cents again

Correct, sugars raise the boiling point of water.

incorrect... Borosilicate is a low thermal expansion glass, it's less likely to breake or crack through the extremes of rapid heating and cooling... most canning jars are soda lime glass and soda lime glass is autoclavable... virtua;y every one here can attest to that fact

I'm not sure exactly what you are doing, but based on this, here are a few guesses. 1) You have boiling distilled water in your jars and you add honey. Adding impurities to pure waterthat is boiling can cause a release of energy and boilover violently.
2) PC'ing your jars before they are warmed to temperature. I don't think that this would be too big of a factor unless oyu took the jars from teh freezer, filled them, then immedtiatly loaded them.
3) Dropping them. Self Explainatory.
To answer your question, I find that Karo Light Syrup is quite clean, usually. Use a tea kettle to boil a liter or so of water. Have 10 clean half-pint jars on hand with a tablespoon or so of Karo in the jar. After the water has been boiling and the teakettle "whistling" for about 5 minutes, pour the boiling water in the jars. Stir with a fork (that was put in boiling water) and put a plastic lid on. Cover with a few coffee filters, and you should be allright. Thats very simplistic, and maybe I'm just lucky that it worked for me.

The only other thing that could possibly be the problem is- Do you have holes in the lids-lol-I assume you do , but given the information you have given, what else,"could",it be?

Do you let your PC cool off to near room temperature before you open it or remove the rocker/weight?

You don't need holes in the lids unless there is more than an inch of airspace between the water and the lid.
